opinion about breaking rules and closed trails

This looks like a clean cut forum. So for my first post I was curious, if there is anyone here that have broken the resort rules, ducked the ropes, and went down a closed trail? A number of other forums are asking this question. What is the TGR answer to this all important question?

    Holy hell.

This guy isn't trolling, though! I saw him at Epic when I was checking out the CR thread.

    Sorry in advance, buddy.

I don't think anyone here would do that. Ever. I mean the grooming machine thigamajiggy's can't get past the ropes, right?

My first thought was that "we fist nuns without so much as a courtesey lick." But posting that would be rude, so I held off.

But don't the resort rules clearly state that the nun is entitled to a courtesy lick before you go down her closed trail?
Yep, seen this before. Crazy liquor & cheeseburger party got out of control.

I like ropes, the more the better, and no, I don't think people should duck ropes. If I see you ducking a rope, I will turn you into ski patrol and they will clip your ticket and ban you from the resort forever, so don't even think about it, and be sure to tell your friends not to duck ropes either, we'll be watching.

    Wink

Ducking ropes is cool and core. Go for it, all the good skiers do it.

They aren’t there for any special reason, plus…you know what they say about rules!

I don't usually admit to such things, but yeah, sometimes I duck the rope in the lift line and ski down the closed run that goes along the ice rink (past the sniffle station) to the parking lot. Most people look the other way, so it's cool.

I duck ropes with 'Cliff' signs at W/B because that's where all the goods and fun are found, I don't go on permanently closed trails because they're closed for a reason.

Duck ropes? Oh, hell no! I'm always looking for the corderoy. In fact I have a tight fitting pair from 1975. They go good with the platform shoes.

    Confessions

Ok confession time. No I have not licked any nuns. I don't even know any nuns. What I have done is:

    1. Skied a closed trail (but only once and it was groomed really)
    2. Skied for months without purchasing a lift ticket. Hey I was a poor teenager.
    3. Jumped out of a chair lift. Hey my friend dared me. I guess I showed him.
    4. Night skiing with a full moon after the resort closed.
    5. Got chased by a groomer after hours once. No not really , the groomers are too slow, but it sounds good.

I got booted off a volunteer ski patrol in Vermont when I was 17 for skiing a closed trail.

Oops. They sent me a letter stating that I would "not be asked to return." It made the decision to move to Alta that much easier.

No, really, I was torn....Stratton or Alta, HMMMM. Tough call, y'know.
