    Home ski storage racks?

I need to mount three skis on a wall in my new condo, but I also need it to look good. Any suggestions as to how to hang skis on a wall? Not sure if I want to mount them horizontally or vertically.

I found this thread but didn't have too many responses: http://tetongravity.com/forums/showt...ighlight=racks

1x2, 3/4" drill bit, 3/4" dowels and wood glue. Install dowels at whatever spacing and length necessary, and mount the 1x2 horizontally to hang skis vertically, or mount two 1x2's vertically to hang skis horizontally like a gun rack.

    Ski Rack (poor Man's)

I just made a ski rack last night

    12 3/4" dowels cut 6" long
    12 3/4" sprinkler pipe cut with a pipe cutter 5 1/4" long
    open 1st beer
    3/4 inch drill bit
    wood glue
    14 drywall screws

spacing ( measured center to center )
1 3/4" between pegs that hang skis

6" between each pair of skis

    drill holes 3/4 " deep
Apply glue and set pre cut dowels in
let sit for the duration of the "Daily Show"
    open second beer

    secure with screws
mount on wall with 2 remaining screws

    let sit 24 hours
    then hang skis

Thanks guys. I appreciate the help so far, but I am actually looking for something that is not cheap. Something you can purchase off the shelf since this will be in view in my condo. I'd rather not have exposed rough saw cut lumber.

Buy a router, a sander and some wood finish or paint. I'm sure someone in gear swap can hook you up

I've seen similar products in most ski stores.

Hey man, I put a few of these up in my garage.
The wooden dowel rack at the condo in frisco is flexy and not up to the traffic it sees.

I've also used some hooks like this. Worked great. Just screw it into a stud.
