    which twin tip ski?

    Hey everyone...

I need a new pair of twin tips, right now i'm skiing on an old pair of saloman pow airs. I need something fun for the park, light, some powder runs, but performs good in all mountain conditions. Any advice? I've been looking at:

    k2 public enemy
    missdemeanor
    seth vicious
    Salomon pocket rocket
    Volki Karma
    Dynastar big trouble.

Any input on these skiis or others would be greatly appreciated... Thanks guys!

    ~Amanda

I think the new PE would be a good all-mountain twin for you. I'm really enjoying mine. I was considering the Karma (stiffer), but for a lighter person like me and you, the PE performs quite well across the board. It's a little wider than the missdemenor.

I agree the new PE would be good, but there's something about the idea of a chick on a pair of Vicious that makes me tingle downstairs.

My vote, get some Vicious and call me when you want to ski

Are you really skiing on a pair of skis that don't exist?

    Nice pic.............

Another vote for the Karmas.......if this is going to be your only ski you can't go wrong with them.....if you want something a little wider, go Vicioius.......you will definately attract some male attention on them.......

And yeah what crash said, aren't they the Rossignol Pow Airs?

I am a big fan of my 4frnt MSP's, but if you are worried about something being too stiff.....then perhaps the Vicious or PE?

i'd suggest the foils, haven't skied mine yet, but the sidecut should be awesome when there's no fresh and the parks not feeling right. They've also got enough underfoot and in the tip to be fun in a little bit of powder. But if this is going to be your only ski and you ski a lot of pow, look at something with less sidecut, salomon guns, PEs or viscous
    Go Sharks.

Maybe Rossi pow-airs? Older 153's with a 120-82-120 sidecut, kind of a red top sheet? No I did not mess up the sidecut, the really did have the same tip width as tail. Odd buggers.

you're right, they're rossis... a bit of a brain fart there. I just looked at the public enemy's at colorado ski and golf.... they look good, and stiff... but those vicious skiis look reeeeally tempting. Does anyone know if they're tougher for tight turns?

and if anyone is in the colorado springs area, and want to carpool to the mtns...you've found your mantch

The Vicious are actually very quick edge to edge. If you get a fatter ski, my guess is that you'll never look back. (However, note that these comments are coming from a fat-ski-aholic...I'm in a 12 step program)

I ski my 189s as an everyday ski and they are very capable of laying down big gs turns yet easy to tighten up into smaller arcs without much trouble.

The Vicious will ski a bit softer than the PE, but they are plenty stable at any speed...I've yet to find a top speed on the 189s yet.

Are you thinking 169 or 179?

I would not consider the Big Trouble light.

i've been skiing a pretty big ski, but will probably go with a 169.... i'm 5 10" and that's what my old pair were, before the pow airs...

You're plenty tall to ski a 179 if you so chose, but the width of the Vicious would make the 169 plenty of ski for you

    169 Vicious is your choice.

Full twins will ski shorter. Go with the 179.

Does where a ski is made make a difference to you? I like to support companies that have a tradition of putting back into their mountain communities. After four trips to the Alps and one to Norway and making numerous friends there, I try to make a conscious choice about it these days.
