FS: 2002 Gary Fisher Marlin, Medium, with upgrades
Hi everyone. I have a 2002 Gary Fisher Marlin for sale. This is a hardtail mountain bike using Gary Fisher's Genesis geometry. Very few of the stock parts remain on this bike. Here is how it is set up right now:
Frame: Medium (17.5") Marlin Frame (best for 5'9" through 6'0")
Fork: Manitou Axel Super 100mm (this replaced a Judy TT in 2003)
Wheels: Stock Bontrager rims on original hubs (recently been trued and roll fine)
Brakes: Promax Linear Pull V-Brakes (original)
Levers/Shifters: Shimano LX Combined Shifters/Brake Levers (upgrade over original)
Cranks: Shimano LX Hollowtech II (upgrade over original)
Pedals: Ritchey Clipless SPD Compatible (upgrade)
Front Derailleur: Shimano XT Top Pull (upgrade)
Rear Derailleur: Shimano XT (upgrade)
Cassette: Shimano XT 9-Speed 12-34t (upgrade)
Handlebar: Bontrager 5 degree rise Crowbar (original)
Headset: Cane Creek (upgrade)
Stem: Sette Edge (upgrade)
Front Tire: WTB Mutanoraptor 2.4 (upgrade)
Rear Tire: Continental Explorer Pro 2.1 (replaced original)
Seatpost and Seat: Stock Bontrager parts (original)
This bike was ridden as my primary bike in 2003, when I did all the upgrades, and has been ridden very little since then. It has always had professional maintenance done regularly. It is in very good working condition, and is ready to go right out of the box. It is a bit dirty now, but for whomever buys the bike, I will degrease it, hand polish it, and ice-wax the chain. I will include ALL original Gary Fisher documentation and manuals which are in perfect condition. Marlins go for about $550 these days, and I have put $450 into this bike. Its about 27.5 pounds and would be a very nice XC bike for anyone looking for a hardtail with top notch components but doesn't want to break the bank. I'd like to get $375, but will entertain serious offers. Its available for pickup in the Salt Lake / Park City area, but I'll ship if buyer pays packing and shipping. Thanks.
