whoops. guess being the first on the block to have a nano was a mistake.
50 more bucks for an extra 26 gigs and video.
oh well. i still like my nano. and really i don't give a shit about tv shows.
Nice.
In USA stores the 60GB costs 399$, here it costs 449€s. Wich is...emm...520$?
Up the ass, man.Up the ass..
And no word on the new G5s either.
I guess i have to wait for few weeks for the possible updates, if there´s anything coming.
The floggings will continue until morale improves.

Considering that almost all outdoor related gear is considerably cheaper in Europe, I don't feel bad for you.Originally Posted by Meathelmet

Hmm. Anyone used a Creative Zen Vision? The built in CF slot sounds like the perfect camera backup.

OK, this might be a dumb question, but what can watch on this thing. I mean other that paying to download fucking disney shows (as mentioned on the apple site) are there other sources for video files in the correct format? Is there a program that will convert DVDs into the right format? I'm interested in this thing, but only if I can easily put movies and shit on it.
anybody have any any to the above question. I was about to pull the trigger on a nano for the wife but thiw new one sounds interesting.
You can put anything that's .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file format. If you're using a mac, use Forty-Two DVD-VXPlus to encode movies for importing into iTunes. It's very similar to encoding video for the PSP.Originally Posted by Big Blue
I'll take the liberty of answering your question. Atleast in my opinion.Originally Posted by cj001f
I'd go with the 60Gig. For file size, MP3's meh... JPEG's meh... MPEG, something totally different. In order to enjoy the video feature I'd want a large library of media so I'm not watching Chistopher Walkins asking for more cowbell over and over and over and over again. I see it like this, if you only get the 30 gig youre gonna have to manage how much you put on it. The 60 gig should be able to hold all of your music, all off your most important pictures, and a very sizable amount of movies or video clips.
Off point I'm very glad to see apple putting some other features on its "harddrive in a case" that are actually useful. What's next though? I'm thinking either a more advanced GUI or web browsing.
what's next is an 80gig.
After looking at reviews of the Belkin Media Reader, and the iPod Camera adaptor I think I'm going to pass on it for a little while longer. I was really hoping for something that would serve double duty as a digital camera backup, and the iPod doesn't sound like it works well - slow transfer speeds and high battery usage transfering images.Originally Posted by wanghoeby
I was looking at the Creative Zen Vision which has a built in Compact Flash slot and good transfer speeds, but it's more expensive ($399/30GB), heavier (4oz) and bigger. Plus it doesn't have the range of accessories. Oh well.

Get the 60GB (it's only 55.7GB anyway). My 60GB has 700MB free - without photos or video. You need it!Originally Posted by cj001f
(Edit: Keep in mind that the video shown on tv has the same resolution as on the 2,5" screen: 320x240, so it's not that spectacular to use that way. Specs: http://www.apple.com/ipod/specs.html)

I can see my house from here!
As it will be used to store video as well I would certainly recommend the 60gig. My 40gig just has music and is 99% full!
damn son, you've got a lot of music...my iPod photo (60GB) is maybe 18GB used with all of my music and iPhoto library...of course, all my music is in AAC format, not Mp3 or Lossless...Originally Posted by jump
