When we were in DC some years ago they was a display of tanks and field pices on the Mall. The officer in charge pointed out that all the guns were pointed away from the Capitol. He felt it was important to symbolize the deference of the military to civilian authority. (Which is also why Presidents didnt salute soldiers, until Reagan started doing it.) Anyway, it would be cool if in the parade all the guns were aimed at the White House.

Oh, cost is the issue now? The budget bill currently moving through Congress gives an additional $155 Billion in new immigration enforcement funding, bringing the total up $185 Billion.
