    Ski access with eMTB thread

Hi, just starting this thread off for discussion of (appropriate and legal) use of eMTBs for ski access - seasonal road closures (to cars), winter use, etc. Post your experiences, suggestions, etc here. Had considered posting this in the bike forum, but feel like it's appropriate here since it's directly related to skiing. Thanks!

So my specific questions that kicked off starting the thread are that I am e-curious about getting a fat-tire emtb for both winter road access going along snowmobile tracks (road access, not snowmobile trail access), as well as in spring before seasonal road closures are lifted. Anything more gnarly than roads I would just start skinning or hiking. Anyone else have this kind of setup and have any suggestions or experiences? In spring where there will be patches of snow and a bit of mud, do you go with or without studs? Tire size/widths? Thinking of just starting off with an Aventon Aventure at that price point to see how things go. Thanks a ton!

I've never ridden a hub drive that performs as well as my Bafang mid-drive.

Studded tires are vastly superior. I run 4.8 Wrathchilds.

Rear suspension probably not necessary. Removable batteries are nice.

Riding a Fat bike in new falling snow is awesume the traction is good its really quiet !

then that snow freezes and thaws so studs will not just be vastly superior

if you dont have studs yer fucked and BTW studded FATS are kind of expensive

I would argue that any suspension on is needed on a Fat bike cuz the tires just kind of wallow from one bump to the next in a suspensionlike manner
