    WTB: School Computer

Looking for something to do a fairly basic BS in business, etc. There may or may not be some basic powerpoint stuff, depending on the program and class. I used a MacBook Air to do this, previously, and ran into disaster with the Zoom procotored tests. IT Couldn't figure it out, and I stopped attending the program due to the issues. I'm thinking the safe call is Windows, but I do love my Macs. My program was in nursing, and I was about 20 credits short of graduation. I need to switch to a business program, but I should have well under 40 credits. Point: I don't need a lifetime machine here, just something to get me through a few semesters relliably. Anyone holding? Budget is somewhat flexible.

Che k out Woot.com. they sell microsoft- authorized refurbished (whateverthefuckthatmeans) laptops for very nice prices
Like $200-300. All come with a fresh winDows 10 or 11 install. I bought one recently and promptly installed Linux.

Exactly what I am looking for. Thank you! Do you have any model suggestions, or just buy one and buy another if it fails?

I should have stated this. They specifically said to stay away from Chromebooks.

Lenovo T series laptops are tits. Some of the Dell offerings are also pretty solid.

If I were buying today, I'd be sure to get Windows 11, not 10. Win 10 support stops this autumn.

I sure wish they would release Win 12 so I can skip 11 on our home PC.

I've had maybe 5 laptops and my $600 Dell was by far my worst purchase. I don't usually type negative things or call companies out, but it was that bad.
