DTM - What skis are you on and what did you have last year at Pulseline?

I was on Sender Squads for AK which felt like the perfect weapon for that terrain. For this trip I brought the Squads and Blackops 118s. I ended up on the BO118s all three days since we never got up into bigger alpine terrain.

Got to watch this. That was several days prior to our our trip. Swap me in for Mac and that's pretty much what it was like for two days.

Thanks. I was curious as some buddies are heading to Pulseline tomorrow and one of them wants to ski something like a 100 wide. Might be a little narrow but his deal.

It’ll become your deal when those skinny skis hold him back on bigger terrain. Fat skis were basically invented to allow skiers to rip in AK. Convince your buddy to bring some real AK skis. You want a fatty with some backbone up there. Need to be able to ski fast on the steeps and hold on for dear life in the runouts. Plus expect some variability on the snow, especially in Valdez as it gets wind hammered. Also snow on the face can be great but the runout is often crap snow.

I wont be there but, yeah, he is thinking of using some of their skis if his dont work for him. I think theyll convince him to go wider once he is there. The other guys will probably talk him into it.

Went to Marzano in Nelson last for a celebration dinner. Food was outstanding, best meal I've had in some time. About to get on the road for Spokane to catch my flight and back to real life.

Please don’t muck up this killer thread with a lame argument.

Man I came for the pillow pics and left jealous of the food. Ha.
Makes me miss the days when we used to go up that way, sleep in the car and ski pillows for a week in the Kootenays. Such a cool/unique part of the ski world.

    Wanna sponsor me?

Mercifully the weather in Nelson this morning was pouring rain with fog almost down to the lake, so they probably didn't fly today. Would have been rough to wake up to blue skies.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Did I mention that I met Ian Macintosh at dinner the first night? Because that happened.

I got lucky with a free day at Stellar 7 years ago. We were the only group, 13 runs non-stop in the Purcells. It was unreal.

Can we just fund an annual DTM and Sage trip to various locations and just bask in the vicarious stoke?
