Tips for stiffening touring boot liners

Most lightweight touring boots that don't have tongues and aren't full overlap can dig into the front of the shins while skiing and it can feel unwiedly to weight the front of the boots. I'm not expecting any miracles, but does anyone have tips for stiffening the tongues of my liners to help distribute the pressure more evenly? I have a friend who duct tapes foam onto his liners, and I'm sure someone here has a more elegant solution than that.

If you mean that you feel with your shins the sharp/stiff upper edge in front of the cuff (that is generally too low on AT boots), or stiff upper buckle over the thin soft plastic cuff - use upper half of any cabrio boot tongue (like Dalbello Krypton, Flexon or any curved thick plastic actually), cut it and rivet under the front edge of the cuff (and booster strap) make it higher and beefier.

    that pulse thing works well.

Or add hard plastic (plastic food container) to the front of the liner

but if you really need to do all this, is it the right boot (flex, size, shape, model?)

    this ^^

I have been using sumppump discharge hose to shim the inside of my boots it is blue .6mm thick pvc it is cheap by the foot it does not compress or breakdown and is thin enough to go around curves in a boot so I can duc tape it to the boot shell

Thanks for the replies! To be clear, I am trying to make my Aliens more skiable, and I only use them for specific objectives and some training. I do the vast majority of my skiing in beefier boots that fit me better. The unique design of the Alien would make the pulse strap tricky, but I will try the food container on the tongue and will also try the sumppump discharge hose inside the shell to help with ankle hold. Thanks!! Keep the tips coming
