    FS Zipfit Freeride 27.5

Selling a pair of Freeride liners in 27.5. 40 or so days. Half a tube of cork added to the medial side of the ankle. Minimal wear, just creases from getting into the boot. I can find some Velcro straps for you if you want, they might not color match.Click image for larger version.

I have a 27.5 Tecnica Mach 1 LV. “Chicken legs” so I’ve been using a power wrap liner for years. Current shell fit is just over 1cm so my toes don’t have room with all the extra foam. Zipfit would say I should buy a Gara based on it being a LV shell. I assume I would immediately add cork to get things snug around the ankle. Has anyone used a Freeride in a LV boot with success or is this just a bad idea period?

I'm interested but I don't understand this. Are you saying that your shell size is actually lower than your liner size for zipfits?

Yes, I use HV zipfit in LV shell. Current model boots are all higher volume than their predecessors anyways I've found, as manufacturers are all chasing the easy slip-in store fit these days. Going from my old Salomon XMax boots from 2017 to my current SPro Alpha boots I had to inject multiple tubes of cork material into my zipfits in order to get the shells to fit well.

If you buy LV zipfit and you need to tune the fit, you'll need to buy tubes of cork material from zipfit website. If you buy HV zipfit you can always just remove the existing cork material using clear plastic tubing from the hardware store. https://www.homedepot.com/pep/UDP-1-...6005/304185147

And the process is like this https://youtu.be/Pp50B9vsXJE?si=94ob24Q6haCQRv3F

Front to back (toe to heel) length between LV and HV zipfits are exactly the same. The only difference is the amount of cork material in the pouches around the ankle and in the tongue of the zipfit.

    FS Zipfit Freeride 27.5

Just settled on an S/Pro alpha, very similar to the Mach one, and a zip fit gara twenty 8 point five. Fits great. Id probably do the. Twenty seven liner if I was doing it again. They seem a bit bigger this run than my last pair.

I’ve tried this liner in Mach oneLVs and it seemed fine as well.

As above, you can always take cork out, though it’s not super fun.

You could also order both and return one. Zip fit seems pretty good about their returns as long as you haven’t molded/modded the thing.

How do I explain to the wife that my ski boot liners cost twice as much as my ski boots?

I tried to use these liners in my Lange RS 130 LV for like 20ish days. No serious issues really. I was having some toe height “issues” (personal preference, not really an issue). Boot fitter buddy pointed out that the extra material in the HV liner might be pushing my foot a little more forward which was making things feel crunched, and suggested trying a Gara LV. I put the original boot liner back in, didn’t notice the toe “issues” when I skied. Bought the LV Gara, instantly fixed my situation.

This is all a very personal experience, and someone marginally sturdier than me would’ve been quite happy with the free ride liner in that boot. I will say that in the past I’ve had same ankle snugness issues and was concerned about it with the Gara LV, but I haven’t found the desire to add cork yet.
