Just saw a pic of two crackers sitting in the backs of pickup trucks throwing salt on the road.

Great opportunity to kick off that "ski all 50 states" mission.
My buddy sent me a pic from just before sunset from his place in New Orleans with 9" of heavy goo pulling the powerlines down low and branches all sagged over. It's pretty cool. I was thinking a slushy Hurricane would be cool.
Is it snowing at Cloudmont? They got open for the first time in 5 years just a few weeks ago, it would be cool if they're having a powder night! Their website isn't very high-tech.
It's the same temperature in Lafayette LA as it is here, and it's chilly here. They have more snow though.
btw the Windy weather app is awesome and continues to improve, check it out
Niece and nephew in rural Levy county Florida have a snow day tomorrow. Fuckin' wild.
sounds like hell freezing over ?

Lots of snow in New Orleans. A buddy of mine just sent another pic of it still snowing this morning
What a massive dip in the Polar Vortex (we need AI generated Chris Farley to play that role btw) the Southeast is experiencing.
We're on our 3rd snow day of the year here in ATL which I can't ever recall experiencing except during Snowpocalypse of 2014.
So far today my social media feed has shown me pics of:
* People skiing behind golf carts on The Battery in Charleston,
* Snow angels on the beach in HHI
* A snowman in front of the Post Office in Seaside, 30a.
While I love all of this, I've also seen so many stupid driving accidents, car crashes and people acting like damned fools with zero clue that they should just stay home and practice breathing through their noses (I'm looking at you, Florida-plated Dodge Chargers with bald summer tires and zero throttle and/or brake control).

ETA because the edit post function does not work:
I did get to teach my son how to do donuts on our ice-covered street last night with his RC car which I feel is a win in all this.

Over 8 inches in the Pensacola area. All the bridges and I-10 are closed. New Orleans got over a foot and is completely shut down.
Zero snow in W2. It's been warm and rainy up until this week when it finally got cold but still no snow cover for the crops. Nice for the ranchers calving but sucks for dirt farmers who plant in the fall.
Going to be a bad year for wheat rust.

Huh? Seems like a bold prediction in January. Chicago average 37 inches a year according to a quick google search. https://www.choosechicago.com/plan-y...icago-weather/
