    Grocery Gettin’ Clogs

What is everyone running for grocery getting clogs / around town errands / dog walking shoes? Slip ons only…

    Larry?

    I have the extremes covered:
    - Rainbow flip flops when it’s warm out
    - Xtratuf deck boots when it’s nasty out

I’ve struggled with the shoulder seasons…
Crocks - super comfy - sloppy when wet…
Sanouks - get nasty - slippy when wet…

My next stop is going to be the closed toe Birkenstocks - I think they are called “Bostons”.

Merrill jungle Mocs in one of the many iterations. I use the insulated Mocs with Arctic Grip soles around town in the winter. Regular ones the rest of the year. Find a style that you like they’re all good

I used jungle mocs as my slip on kick around shoes for a while but the build quality was shoddy on my last pair, wore through the heels of the upper in a couple months. Said fuck it and tossed shock cord laces onto a pair of low top light hikers and I’m never going back. Waterproof, vibram soles, slip on as easily as clogs but you can cinch em up if you find your morning dog walk gets rowdier than expected.

I have the Bostons. They are my winter shoes. I wear a thick wool sock and stick my dogs in the Birks and I am good to go. Specifically I have the suede version but I always look to get another pair. Perfect for getting to the parking lot and putting ski boots on. I always throw a pair of Kennetrek mountain extremes in the car in case it's a snow day and I have to dig out or some crap like that.

TNF Booties (or mules look pretty good too) are good winter getting around gear.

Chaco ramble puffs. Also make great hut shoes… packable and light for in your ski pack.

Stegmann wool clogs if you have any sense of style.

I had some awesome Salomon clogs for 20 years, but when they finally died, I could only find their Snowclog which was overkill as a grocery getting. I replaced them with the Merrill Encore which fits a bit differently but is still a nice 3 season slip on.

Tnf puffers. Super comfy. Easy on off, good soles with traction. Weather resistant.

Blundstone's are hard to get on and they irritate my Morton's Neuroma.

Good place to mention Blundstones are guarantied and so I've warrantied 2 pair one or them was > 10 yrs old but the sole had chunked off and seperated,

SO take picture of sole and send it in, if they decide you have a valid claim they ask you to cut out the elastic side panels and the pulltabs, take another picture and send in, 3 weeks later a new pair shows up ... pretty good IMO

Good place to mention that they also make a version with a real vibram sole. A little hard to find, but worth it.

I have (and love my) blundies - I should have mentioned that in the open. The quiver slot I’m missing between the blundstones and the flips…

The sole of a Blundstone is made for dry, dusty Aussie land, no snowy/icy northern climes.

yeah the original 505 I wear in summer, its not very grippy in snow but there is a fairly common version with a lugged sole which i wear in the snow and i gave the 3rd pair to my daughter in law

I wear my Teva Reembers everywhere. They saved a ski vacation in France a couple of years ago. My new Hokas hurt my feet so bad I could hardly walk. Luckily, I had the Tevas with me.
