yes you can tighten or loosen depending on which way you turn the knob with each click. Or pull the knob to fully release all tension.

It does but just want to pop them open once in the lodge and not fiddle fuck with ‘em. Just not a fan of the slack it throws. Ah well.

Nothing at all! They work great. But boa opens up new options and ways to build boots which we have found has allowed new ways to think about ski boots and so far it’s performing really well!

Did you do any experiments with a toe and upper cuff buckle and a boa at the ankle replacing buckles 2 and 3? I'm not sure if it would even be practical with the boot flexing and the need to get the foot into the boot. But MO and Gaijin's posts made that idea pop into my head.

Cuff you really want to work as one so the current configuration of a single self actuating cable works really well. No need for any actions buckles , they would in fact reduce the effectiveness as they are a static tension. As far as the toe we really don’t see any need for it. If you build the shell for boa you can get a really good wrap from the shell with the single cable design. Clamping the toe down really does nothing so long as you are not in a boot way to big and you are trying to make a big boot fit

We have to get the system to work correctly before we even get to models. It’s funny you would think boots which have traditionally always used cables would be really easy to adapt for boa but it’s turning out to be quite the challenge.

How do you think boa will improve the cabrio design/preforamce? Are you going to keep the middle/heel buckle? Thanks for working on it, I know there's not a lot of money in 3 piece.

That is honestly the hard part. We are only going to do it if it makes the boots fit and or perform better. If it’s literally just replacing buckles for the sake of it there’s no point.

So far we have a decent fit from it but not in a solution which works better. So it fits a bit better but is not better overall. We are going to spend a lot of time on it this winter so hopefully we will get closer by the end of the season.

Seems like 2[emoji646]26 BOA discussion warrants its own thread.

Also interesting to note that teamdirt’s mother was boa’s last choice
At least BOA should tighten her up a bit.

Fits wider than 96mm. They may call it 96mm. But it is wider. Still going to make a good everyday performance boot.
