    Rossi broken binding…what to do?

My metal Rossi FKS 120 binding broke on me this weekend while skiing. I didn’t hit anything and have taken good care of them, but the metal arm suddenly snapped while making a turn on a groomer. See the pic for the damage.
I think these are about 6 years old?
Do I have a shot in hell of getting a warranty replacement from Rossignol? Should I bother?
Or just replace the heel or single binding so I don’t have to get new holes drilled?

Do you have a shop near you that sells Rossignol FKS? I'd start there with a warranty claim

Thanks, I’ll try that. In the meantime I think I need to find a pair (or single) of used bindings that have the same hole pattern. Do the Look pivots have the same as Rossi FKS?

Gonna assume that fks is out of warranty at this point. All you need is a new pivot base. Some places sell pairs some sell as singles. Just find your matching brake size and swap it. The dildo part screws right off by screwing reg forward pressure skis. They will come apart and then just screw them onto the new base. Good to go. Just make sure you choose a 1.0 base.

I had a couple pairs crack in the same area and look sent replacements. https://www.look-bindings.com/product-recall. I may have some extra 180 heels.

And if Rossi doesn’t help you, check out the Pivot mix-and-match-parts buy/sell/trade thread on the Gear Swap forum right here on TGR.

Wow. Crazy that people have seen this often.

Must have been a bad batch of metal at some point?

Good PSA to pay attention and look for cracks from time to time. This could really ruin someone’s day.

^^^^ crazy. Always thought of them as bomber. Pivots and sth have been my go to.

But yeah. My point was acknowledging shop rat info and making me inspect the plate every now and then.

Definitely check your bindings. My bindings all cracked on the right side where the bend starts.

That break is a little different though as the breaks I remember would happen right on the bend. This onelooks like it took baseplate too

It doesnt look under-engineered but if you think about it that heel piece is a nice long lever to break itself off the binding

rossi (look in my case) bros are very kind to work with. They are local here and let me stop by and they had a wall of pivot pieces said grab whatever.

Email their CS, they are super responsive. Maybe try looks cs contact form?

Interesting that the two arms are adjusted to different lengths.
