My friend has just begun making bibs for this specific purpose. She she started with a woman's drop this year, mens drop will be next year. The idea is 100% PVC coated material in the butt and thighs with 20k/20k panels for better articulation and breathability the remainder of the panels. Ideal for riding lifts in wet environments (Mount Baker/PNW).

Plastic bag under your pants has worked for me across PNW, VT, and now PA wet-pow days.

More inconspicuous than the actual products and works pretty well.

That’s what I’ve been looking for.

BITD some friends of mine in the PNW had some sweet Volcom pants made out of PVC. Made for riding in the rain at Baker. The vents pretty much had to be open or your nether regions turned into a jungle immediately.

Definitely more stiff, but the way they are cut with a mix of panels makes it non-problematic. They articulate well and don’t feel awkward.

Grundens make sense. Although it sounds fishy.

I guess the problem is we all want breathable. But back in the day shit had pvc lining and no breath

But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers

Ass gasket looks like a good compromise to me between all the options covered in here. Beavertail probably works the best but I'd rather not have something flapping around behind me. Special waterproof pants, nah.

Living in Montana, the days I actually need anything for wet skiing are few and far between. Occasional swamp ass ain't gonna kill me.

I'm compelled to start a spoof thread called
    Rants For Chairlift Riding?
But I don't want to be the originator of a rant thread.
    You're welcome.

The ass cape usually has straps for your thighs so it doesn’t flap around

You don’t even notice it. Yeah, for MT it’s a non issue. I’ll be rocking mine tomorrow here. Dry bum ftw!
I’ve never seen one with leg straps nor would I want them.

That turtle is cute and all, but it's fuzzy so you'll be back at square one rather quickly when all the wet snow clings to it.
