    Deviated Septum Repair?

Any of you have this done? I’m about a week out, which is too early to really tell, but it hasn’t seemed to alleviate problems I have been having with sleeping and post-nasal drip.

A few years ago now, but IIRC it took about a month to really note a difference in breathing during exercise (which was my issue with the deviated septum).
    Hope you feel better soon

Yep, had mine done Sept 2022.

I’ve had incredible results, wish I’d had it done a decade earlier.

It took a while to properly heal up and get better, so I’d say it’s still too early to tell at the stage you’re at. I was getting nasty stuff out with the saline rinses for weeks and weeks afterwards.

    Thanks, guys, that’s reassuring!
Ianpnw, how was it diagnosed that you were suffering from degraded athletic performance? I only really learned of this as I went through this process, and I feel that it might have been true my whole life.

It can take up to a year for it to completely heal and be back to normal.

It was when I was doing breathing exercises for bike racing, trying to breathe through my nose at higher outputs. Much better after the surgery (as were my sinus headaches which I hadn’t related to the deviated septum which I’d had since breaking my nose playing rugby as a kid)
