Audio issue on my Dell Monitor

curious if anyone has any ideas

its a new dell s3222dgm works fine except audio bugging/ went to dell site and installed drivers and updates.. my windows 11 is updated

Basically in my sound settings you can see its selected as the active audio, and that silly enable sound option is enabled.

    >>>>>>When I plug in the audio cable directly to the monitor, there's no sound (yes it has speakers)
    >>>>>>>then I plugged the audio into a splitter that breaks off to 2 speakers and a return to the monitor>that works ! but sound is not super strong.

? buy better speakers and forget about it?
    or
?figure out how to get the monitor audio working? sounds better

I read on a site that maybe reinstalling windows can be a last resort. eeek i'd rather ski icy moguls

What are you driving the sound with? Perhaps your preamps aren't powerful enough?

And if you do buy a mac or acquire one, please open your window and throw it out.

well, its supposed to be internal speakers with the basic internal downloaded driver the manufacturer guides us to... so there's no chance thats wrong.

It may be at a point where the updates dont fix it for everyone yet; the monitor is fairly new and they are selling a lot of them.

but, the sound with the external speakers that I got to work is much better than I expected in game. Stuff like internet news and movies are not very loud.

I expect you're right about these speakers, they don't have any preamp.. an upgrade couldn't hurt/I kind of wanted to get the internals working right, but i'm not too picky
