Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!
    Cletus: Duly noted.

Rogue Wave out of Alberta has a great selection if you’re into really good coffee beans.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. What are you waiting for America? Jesus? Oh wait, Jesus is coming, look busy.

He says that he's only found the better blends in Canada. And tgat the ones available at least here in VT are their lesser works.

I know there is a flaw in my logic, but in an age of hypersonic missiles why do people invest in surface ships, when they can logically be taken out very easily? And what is a surface Navy going to do to Canada?
Sure the US could overrun them but then it goes gorilla warfare and the US has never won a battle like that. And then the rest of the world condemns the USA like Russia. Great thinking folks.

Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Hypersonics against ships aren't the end all be all.

Hypersonics have been around for a many decades. Traditionally they've come in a couple varieties. The most notorious is probably the Russian Kh-22 of which the original design is 57 years old. The Soviets planned to use them in saturation attacks against carrier groups. The US has been countering the threat for that long with a variety of means.

Hypersonic effectiveness in an antiship role is still a burning question. Most/all are not actually hypersonic in their terminal phase because ships move and maneuver, and even if an adversary has good targeting data for a ship before launch, you absolutely need terminal guidance. Missile seeker heads cannot see through plasma sheaths. That means they must slow down to probably the Mach 2 range.

The question continues to be one of killing archers, jamming, and defensive missile magazine depth vs the enemy ability to locate, target, and launch many missiles.

Submarines... that is the scary bit. We were fools to retire S-3B.

Missiles aren't intercepted by catching up to them. You launch the interceptor from the target and let the missile do the work. Faster = straighter, so the challenge is more timing and tracking.

That said, yeah, Canada should be looking to increase your bang for the buck, probably by partnering with Ukraine on weapons development. It probably makes more strategic sense to spend the money on next generation weapons that won't be available immediately than to just sign orders with Raytheon, like Trump expects. Weapons that work against Russia would be the best deterrent against any likely threat.

The only violence that is/will occur between Canada and the US is at hockey games between players at puck drop. Maybe the fans on a bad day if someone had too much to drink.

2 billion in cross border trade per day, Trump is so fucking stupid and the 2 countries are so fucking intertwined I kind of doubt this will go very long cuz you can't make an american car or a canadian car but you can make a north american car here was a woman on the CBC last week who was into some kind of metal fabrication close to the border, she said that Americans just had to eat the tarrfit last time if they wanted the product so they did

Same. I would expect they have some more secret programs than we'd know we about, too, but that certainly seems a logical starting point.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if Canada looked to attract a plant for a Raytheon etc. too.

Nokian opened a new factory in TN which is where the tires we get in north america are from now.

Most Michelin X Ice are made in Nova Scotia and they’re better than the Nokians.

I think Trump will just keep wanking around threatening becuz what he is threatening is just as stupid for America as it is for Canada and so he doesnt really want to piss offf all kinds of congressmen that need to answer to their people

but then nobody on either side can really plan to do anything but nothing

those stupid fucking premiers and the JT going to Mari-lago with their hat in their hands before he was even the fucking pres was beyond dumb, canada should have sent 1 only diplomat and it should have been Freeland cuz Trump hates her

https://angusreid.org/shopping-shift...anada/Shopping Shift: Four-in-five say they’re buying more Canadian products in face of tariff threat"Breaking this down into more specific actions, the scale of potential change is evident. Four-in-five (78%) are committing to buying more Canadian products overall, while three-in-five (59%) say they’ll boycott U.S. products.Travel is also in the crosshairs of Canadians. Half (48%) say they will cancel or delay plans to enter the U.S. Canadian airlines and travel companies are reportedly already feeling the financial impact of this trend." Good. Lets see if this lasts

HUGE will be the car companies not be able to build cars in SWO/ midwest becuz you can only build a north americn car but you can't build a Candain or Americna car

This from a friend of mine on FB. I think a lot of people are doing the same."Well we bit the bullet and cancelled our US Spring Break trip. Just can't do it in good conscience. Got a good chunk our our money refunded but sadly (and ironically) Air Canada is penalizing me. Full refund on Alaska Airlines, go figure. We'll probably eat $3k US but won't spend a dime more there and will get better value elsewhere. Love hotels.com, just click "cancel" and get your refund! If anyone is in AZ March 29 they can have our 4 Diamondback tickets and maybe even a hotel room which we prepaid and cant cancel."I say go one step further and call the US house representative as a Canadian and tell them this is what we did and go fuck yourselves. At some point people are going to be pissed. It may be small but fuck that orange shit tard !
