I think most people would be happier if BC, Washington, Oregon, California were one country. And if Alaska, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon, NWT, and the mountain west states were one country. Beyond that I’m not sure what the division would be, but I overall I think that would better capture the shared values and way of life. Perhaps there’s certain areas where that doesn’t ring true (the eastern edge of northern BC for instance) but overall I think most people would be happier.

And let’s let the southern states (especially Florida) & Texas do their own thing. No one wants them.

^Denmark has already claimed California, so they're off the table.

I would welcome TAFKALVS suggestion in the worst way. Problem is how would the rest of the former country survive without our subsidies? Oh well F it I don’t care!

I’m pretty sure between Wyoming, Alberta, and Alaska alone, there’s lots of material wealth in the ground that pesky things like wanting clean water and clean air get in the way of. It could be the Saudi Arabia of North America.

Hopefully NE BC wants to join so this new country can develop Valemount. Mount Pierre Trudeau would be renamed Mount Baron Trump, and an extremely profitable gambling casino and 4 seasons resort with plenty of gold trim would grace its slopes. Imagine skiing the biggest ski area in North America followed by Apres Ski in the Atlantic City of the north.

I know Greg from AZ talks about the Apres Ski scene in New Jersey with Hot Italian Babes, but I think this would far surpass that.

I think you need to review your northern Rockies geography
Valemount is west of the continental divide. Although I’ll grant you much of the trench from Fernie to McBride is owned and frequented by residents of Alberta. A visa system would have to be put in place.

I’m down as long as we get Aloha state. What a utopia! We’ll make the best deals - tariff you on everything. The global community will favor us on day 1. Plus we have the best ports, believe me.

You could include much of Southeast Alaska in the New Canada coastal conglomerate as well. Not sure about the native fishing villages, but Juneau for sure, parts of Ketchikan, half or more of Sitka.

Maybe we need a TGR summit and we can propose our annexation and consolidation plans for North American peace. Is Mexico taking California back?

The French Canadians in the east will surrender, the Asians in on the west side will go with whoever lets them make more money. The loggers, miners and oil guys will become the new West Virginians. The ranchers and farmers will go with whatever gets the tractors and trucks cheaper.

I think New Cascadia would want all of Alaska - sure it skews towards the right but they’d be outnumbered in the voting booth and could be placated with the government letting them keep all the guns they want and otherwise leaving them alone? Your thoughts

I may have gone north just ahead of you.

Good news (so far): at least Banffanadians are about as friendly as ever.

Bad news: Canadian news is no longer the respite of calm matter-of-fact reporting that used to make our overblown silliness seem temporary. And it kinda sucks to come to Canada and know the Albertans' terrible parking and driving get a pass now that there are American things to worry about.

But good news: we needed some humility anyway.

You can have the panhandle of AK if we can take eastern BC. The Kenai Peninsula is negotiable.

There’s a lot of rural folks in BC and Yukon that skew very right, or perhaps true libertarian as they don’t rely on most social services. They value any govt that would just leave them alone. Not sure they care to even vote, at least many of the one’s I’ve run into. Bet most haven’t even heard the latest bullshit happening in the Whitehouse, and those that have find it more comical than anything. Us ‘civilized’ folk getting our comeuppance, or at least the cycle is turning as it always has.
I’m envious of them at the moment.
