Never mind. These problems with the site make it really hard to work my meme game. Some fire ones going around right now.

Trump is not nearly as powerful as he would like people to think:

1- Trade is mostly good. People who think trade is always bad and autarky is good are a standard deviation or two below people in IQ who understand trade is mostly good. It is not entirely or even mostly their fault

2 -Markets are mostly good. People who think markets are bad and a state controlled econmy is good are a standard deviation or two below people in IQ who understand markets mostly work. It is not entirely or even mostly their fault

3 - Markets and democracy worked to save free trade. This week markets disciplined Trump in a similar same way markets fell when someone like Bernie Sanders wins a primary

As a real Canadian ( 2nd gen) not patriotic/ learning to not say sorry/ can't lose the eh

I have never seen Canadians SO pissed, Trump is really uniting this country

Canadians are checking labels for " product of Canada " which is really easy with the WWW probably shelf labels are next so they don't have to look

might as well just quit trying to sell anything up here

Except Starlink/Twitter. People will boycott for a week, then get tired of it and revert back to norm.

Out of 33 million Canadians there are 400k starlink subscribers.

A boycott doesn’t have to be 100% perfect all the time.

You’d have to be a simpleton who can only see the world with a binary viewpoint to think that Trump’s behavior hasn’t caused a reaction that will last longer than just a couple weeks.

So Canadians are suddenly checking labels? Bullshit, protectionism has long been the MO in Canada. Ask anybody who works for an American company that tries to break into the Canadian market with a product. It's pretty much DOA if there is a Canadian-made equivalent. This is nothing new.

My family back home has never avoided American products before. They're now actively avoiding them. My parents have relayed that multiple people they know have cancelled booked vacation to the US and are traveling elsewhere.

Some good could come out of this. Canada could stick it to Trump by tearing down its own interprovincial trade barriers. While not strictly a tariff, Canadian chambers of commerce say provincial trade barriers are effectively a 21-percent tariff. Why hinder trade within your own country?

The amount of hate I get from Magats for suggesting a "FUCK YOU DONALD" chant instead of booing the US anthem is kinda funny since this is the "Lets go Brandon" team.

Good luck, most of your produce in the winter comes from the US.

Outrage will be an internet flex, but most will lack the willpower and fortitude to create any meaningful boycott.
