Into June. Not yet defined. Not specifics of what and when things will be open. TBD.

My kid and I will be getting there the Monday after school gets out. Skiing and biking through Friday. Looking forward to it.

Chair 5 is off schedule M-Th. Spring hours listed as 7:30-2:00, but expect closing will cut back after Memorial Day.

The cold spring looks like it is preserving the base depth. Almost 5' at Main and over 90" McCoy and above.

Does anyone know if Panorama and Mammoth Rock Trails are clear of snow?

I was in the area yesterday (parked at twin lakes) but I didn't really pay attention to panorama dome. I would guess patchy at most throughout the trees and clear in the open? Above Lake Mary (9000) it was all snow. But it was about 50/50 on the walk down from Lake Mary to Twin Lakes off the road (and the road is totally clear, don't know why it isn't open to cars).

Awesome! Thank you. I imagine that means it will be clear for riding by my arrival on June 2.

Riding up G2 yesterday I heard from a reliable source that Mammoth’s last day for ski operations is June 15th and that’s it.

Guy I heard it from seems like he’s “in the loop.”
He’s a longtime employee, ripping skier, skis fast, occasionally posts POV clips of himself skiing down the chair line of
ch 22 on pow days, drives a snowcat, and smoked me on a top to bottom run down Monument yesterday.

Yo Ott! Saw your post regarding MRT & Panorama Done trail and their condition. Tuesday eve I rode up and took a quick look at them. Here’s what I saw…..

At Mammoth Rock Trail. It’s been a while since I’ve ridden up to it and forgot how much elevation gain thru Old Mammoth there is. I was feeling the thin air.

The entrance has some run off coming down it resulting in a wet/mud section right away. Once you get over the 1st rise, it goes away and the trail’s dry.

Looking down it, the trail looks snow free and in good shape. Saw three groups of trail runners on it in 10 minutes.

I pedaled on up from the trail head and stopped at the entrance to Pano Dome Trail. Here’s what I saw……….

There’s a giant berm thats 6-10ft deep. It’s on a Northern aspect and it’s going to be here for a couple more weeks (maybe). Panorama is not rideable at this time.

I finished the climb out Old Mammoth Rd and stopped at Twin Lakes.

The waterfall from Lake Mary into Twin Lakes was flowing last night!

Lower Twin Lakes just before sunset. Temps drop fast as the sun goes down. If you’re riding in the evening bring an extra layer. You’ll be stoked you did.

I know right! I didn’t want to be one of “those” people that are always name dropping, typically in a desperate attempt to sound or look cool. But who would know better when ski ops will end for the 24-25 season than a cat driver, right? So I figured that if I threw in a couple hints about the person I heard the ending date from that at least few people would figure it out.

Currently 395 is closed between Mono City and Lee Vining due to The Inn Fire. Detour is the Hawthorn down to Hwy 6 and the Benton Crossing Rd.

A few pics from this past week of skiing.

Upper mtn just as it was getting soft.

When the rest of the mtn has gotten sticky the race courses are still skiing well late in the day.

Ch 23 early in the day.

Entrances off the top of 23 mostly rock free.

    Fast slush under Dropout.

Under Ball’s has some smooth, fun corn snow.

All of the race runs had fast carvy snow on them til closing.

Thursdays winds made for some awesome Sierra wave clouds.

    Great sunset.

By Friday the dirt patch was starting to creep across the bottom of Stump Alley.

End of the day from the bottom of ch 2.

May has been a good month of spring skiing
with freezing temps almost every night and daily corn cycles. Hit it now as it won’t be here much longer.

For comparison sake the last pic in my post directly above this one was taken this past Friday of Memorial Day weekend 2025. vs…..

Memorial day weekend 2021. Mammoth had to do some epic snow farming to be able to ski to the bottom of Stump Alley.
Hoping those days stay a distant memory.
