Boney is a generous adjective to use for what we see... Good to see them moving none the less!

Made a few laps at west yesterday. Coverage was good enough for the top half.

I love watching that cam. Somebody sledding last night ate shit so hard next to the trash cans I thought he broke a leg. He popped up after about 15sec though and ran around like a maniac, so I was pretty jealous at that kind of flexibility. I wish the cam had a 2 way mic like a ring cam though, that would be next level entertainment.

It will be nice when the pass has enough snow for touring. The Crystal Backcountry has been more crowded than I've ever seen it.

But also, what is that main lodge? That's seriously what they invested all that time and money to create? How many ppl can it even handle at lunch? 100??? a far cry from the previous lunch space.
They leave it shut until 10:30 am which is really awesome when you are trying to adjust your toddler's goggles in a blizzard. What a great investment.

Hasn’t the wastewater issue always limited what they can build out? Wonder with the smaller lodge and limited hours? Also no sign of any hotel buildout either?

Pre Alterra they served a decent bsando + breakfast burrito in main lodge, our crew enjoyed rolling up early, getting good parking and then having a coffee and a hot breakfast @ 7:30 in the lodge waiting for lifts to spin. There was always a decent crowd with the morning racers and their parents that would seem to make it worth their $$ to serve breakfast???

Guess I’ll still mourn the “good ol days” and keep packing a pb&j and jerky in the pockets, been several years since I’ve spent $$$ at crystal and will keep it the same based on early word.

Yep. And Patroller friend a few weeks back was saying they fucked up the permitting process for sewer in the new ski lodge for ants and can't fully open the amenities while they're stuck in limbo.

Why megacorp bought a poop-limited real-estate challenged ski hill is a question for another thread.

To tap into the Seattle $ and get them on the pass to travel elsewhere to their destination resorts.

Until then, sani cans in the parking lot. IKONIC!

It seems like they'd at least be able to build to the capacity they're replacing. Is the new lodge actually smaller?

It's there, just don't clog up a toilet or the meadow at the bottom of Lower (Ower) Ferks will get even more soupy.

Of course I'm way too smart to deal with that crap so I went to the truck to finish my coffee and grab a snack. Arrived just in time to help push some vibrant folks out of the parking lot before they sideswiped my vehicle and the guy parked next to me with their front-wheel-drive-with-bald-tires-mobile. They weren't the only ones surprised by the amount of snow, the crystal parking lot crew was busy digging or pushing out all kinds of vehicles.

All that being said, what a great start to the season! So much more encouraging than last year.
Wow. Sideswiped your your rig, (see, I’ve learned PNW lingo), and you stayed that positive.
    Can I have some?

Not sideswiped... got there just before disaster struck and helped push them out. Otherwise I would not have remained positive at all. I'm guessing they weren't the kind of folks that worry about having car insurance, etc.

Looking forward to Friday, it should be epically ikonic!

All is well at the Northern resort. Little stashes here and there. The fun in-bounds lines Don't go quite yet. Some heavenly-looking lines being skied off the arm

Right? At least 3 times at one of the cross country parking lots, I’ve seen a guy with bald tires on his Outback trying to get unstuck. I don’t wanna waste time so I’ll leave them a couple of avalanche shovels I keep in the car, go skiing, and tell them to set them back on my car when they’re done.

Hit the opener at Stevens today. Overall, pretty good coverage with a few thin spots here and there near the base. Snow was great. Lots of nice turns off piste. Only four chairs spinning (Skyline, Hogs, Brooks, and Daisy) but never waited more than 5-10-minutes for a chair. Itching to get a bit higher on the mountain but also remembering this is November skiing. Had sun most of the day, which was a bonus.

Edit: just saw on IG that 7th Heaven will pop tomorrow. Should be some deep turns.

Any firsthand reports of the Seventh Heaven opening yesterday? Looking for some beta on snow depth up higher on the mountain.
