Looks like glacier is back up! Any chance the t bar will run? It would be cool to take my 8yo on the glacier now that he has the he skills to get down it.
I’m heading up with the family tomorrow for the week if any mags are around when I can sneak out for some fast laps pm me.

Rolling in on Monday morning - looks like some weather on it's way, albeit wet. Thinking cold thoughts!

I heard Symphony went down yesterday afternoon. Hopefully it was a minor issue and will be running again today.

Does whistler, or the nearby area have weather telemetry readings? Looking at avalanche.ca they have a weather station list, but nothing appears to be near/at whistler? With the this weekend's upcoming snowlevel still in flux i was hoping for a way to be able to check the snow accumulation/precip at different elevations the morning of. Something similar to the NWAC telemetry tables. Does that exist?

No wonder they didn’t open 7th heaven today, 120kph+ gusts all morning. Was a bit bummed since I did the steeps clinic today and we could get into any of the couloirs and they didn’t open spanks either but we still found some good snow.

Raining in the village right now but snow line was around the midstation. Supposed to be warmer and windy tomorrow, we are heading out of town but I’m sure there will be some good snow up high if they open anything.

Hey guys, I booked my first trip to whistler for the first week of march a while back, after learning that march was the time to go. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like there is going to be snow this week. Any recommendations where there will be some good tree skiing or other places I should check out with the low snow fall?

WB alpine is one of the best places in the continent for spring skiing on a nice day. And if it cools down and turns to refrozen junk later in the week, well...the groomers are world class too. Save the trees for another trip when it snows.

Not sure what your ski days will be, but it does look like snow could return toward the end of next week.

WB needs to fix the old 4 chair on 7th Heaven, completely down on Wednesday Mar 5 and on Thurs opened late and ran at slower speed, with no load on every 3rd chair. Huge lineups. This will be a cluster if it's still limping after this wkd big dump.

Supposedly the motor broke and it was on diesel backup? Also have read it’s EOL, but replacement will require a bunch of work at Horstman to clear more space, challenges compounded by glacial erosion. Surely this can all be done if Vail throw $$ at it.

And surely an absolute gong show this weekend between storm intensity, thirst for powder and likely no alpine tomorrow and probably Sunday. Hoping I can sneak up Monday or Tuesday.

I heard it was an electrical problem at top motor, and I thought, ok, Blackcomb closes in 6 weeks, they'll say screw it, rather than patch it. Run it at low capacity (unless diesel breaks) and do proper repairs in summer. They'd claim a repair would be 'disruptive' to users. But apparently, they are attempting to fix the electric drive.

Skiing Whistler/Blackcomb next week 03/13-03/17. I know Whistler is finally getting some snow over the next few days, but assume conditions won't improve all that much? Whats the move for skis to bring up? Pretty much skiing whatever expert terrain is available/open. Usually would bring up a 110 (would be the Sender Free 110 or MFree 108), but thinking a ski with some metal in it might be the move or just narrower overall (I have the Enforcer 99 and Sender Free 100 as well) or split the difference with the BC Atris. Driving up from central WA with some others so can't bring multiple skis unfortunately.

Yeah, the quoting isn't working correctly. Yes, I did see that First Tracks was canceled.

Well, that was a lot of snow, but can't say I had the greatest experience. I was the wettest I've ever been on Sunday and yesterday felt like a weekend day. Looks like everyone has been starved for snow. I've never seen lift lines consistently that long. It really cleared out past 2:00, though.
