KW was decent. Late opening and the crowd skied out what opened in 1.5 hours. Not as heavy sounding as Red Dog but it was nothing like last week's bliss.

My first two runs with my kid we top to bottom freshie. Never even crossed a track as we popped out by chair 7. Those were wonderful.

The snow here was not fully Sierra Cement. The Fingers were skiing great at closing. So that was a fun end of day.

Dookey - you should see all the teams at KW. I hope you are teaching your kids etiquette. Not so much at KW. Just being rad if the lesson. Anyway, they are like a guide to the goods here and people have figured it out. Very few secret stashes left these days. Sign of the times.

Decent day at KW. 4 was busy but not terribly. Heard it referred to as a short Heavenly line. Fuck that.

Blackouts still better than non blackouts but that is slowly changing. I'm sure it would have been much busier without them.

The ghettos was pretty good today with some very nice dense pow where things had not slid. Much goodness off Scott and also HiT. The main shitshow related to traffic and parking. Once on the mountain it was tolerable for a holiday weekend.

Blackouts days are fucked. The hills aren't packed with locals making a few laps and leaving. Maybe I'm wrong

Eastside, which mountain? Friday was FUBAR with lower mountain only at PTOV, but yesterday wasn't too bad on the hill considering what the parking lot looked like. Skiing was a ton of fun.

I dont disagree, though. I think more people are bucking up for full passes.

I skied OV yesterday - headed straight to Big Blue when I got off Washy Lift. Did you notice the huge crowns off Siberia ridge and North Bowl? Damn.Everything was open except Silvy and even though it was a black out day it was BUSY. I got two pretty decent sweet runs in but it felt more like 4" of snow (Granite wasn't open on Friday). I was just happy I could still feel some fresh on the turns given the nature of the storm Thursday/Friday (snow/rain mix). I did a few over on Solitude and then couple more and called it as I was hungry.

About 4" at KW today. It skied well over the previous snow. Smoothed things out a bit.

Late in the day it was hard packed down low but buff zone up high were skiing better than the past two days. Hope the wind does some work tonight.

KW pretty smooth and buffed out today, very nice. Not quite as nice down low but still pretty nice.

They actually ran Vista tow for the first time this season! Of course as soon as we were about to load it broke down LOL. They got it running again tho and we had a nice ski down Shot 5 and Boylermaker.

I guess I was thinking about Kirkwood primarily. I hate the blackout days when I just want to go ski a few laps after 2pm at Heavenly. &nbsp;I don&#39;t remember how much more I would pay to have a full access (no blackout days) pass as opposed to the Epic Tahoe Local I usually get. &nbsp;11 total blackout days kinda sucks primarily because of the Dec 25-31 part. &nbsp;</p>

Just filled out my guest survey and let them know what I thought of then not opening Silvy on yet another pow day. Not that it will do any good. Also, about the app that they say to check for the most up today info. Of course, it wasn&#39;t on the schedule until right before opening this morning. Do they just flip a coin?

Now that it’s hit the news, local Meyers family man died in an avalanche yesterday in the Powderhouse bowl. SAC posted a photo this morning and are out there today. Super sad news my heart breaks for his two daughters and wife. Be Safe, steep zones with north especially with complex terrain needs needs careful consideration

Skibused up to PT-OV on Saturday and just lapped KT all day. I was worried about the holiday and lines, but didn't have to wait all day. Black out and track out for the lower hill lead to no waiting. Headwall and Granite reports were waiting required. Fun stuff for sure.

dang TahoeBC that is terrible news. We drove by there yesterday on the way home from Kirkwood and saw the police were there and were wondering about it.

Wow, yes, terrible news. Heartbreaking for the family. Of course, everybody has skied Powderhouse, I suppose many of whom have taken for granted that the usual rules don't apply there... so familiar, so frequently "tested" by other skiers. This one's a big wakeup call.

Oh man.. As someone who has skied that PH bowl alone many times, that death hits home. It's legit avy terrain in there and deserves a lot more respect than the more popular parts of PH. It looks like the GFM is doing well, but 2 kids! What a tragedy.

Tahoe '24/'25 - This Thread Shall Not Be Privatized!!

That’s horrible to hear. I’ve skied it alone a couple times but only dropping in from the relatively safe spot skiers right. The couple times I’ve dropped with groups from the top it is rowdy terrain with a bunch of terrain traps at the flat shelf in the middle.
I’ve been keeping it at lower elevations mostly. The couple times I’ve gotten above 8k it then became pretty rough going for the dog. The snow has been fun until Sundays rain but then it was still fun.

Mid elevation south facing skied surprisingly good this morning. It seems like it got windbuffed out over the last couple days. Got warm fast though

Nice, claymond! I was in that line and the Viking line to the right on Monday - both had edgeable, smashable crust. Definitely not wind buff! But excellent for steep skiing.
Made it out Tuesday late afternoon for Silvy laps with my daughters - man, I love that zone. So did they. Psyched it&#39;s back in action!

Screw February ski week. Used to be it was a local holiday week in Truckee--kids were dropped off, adults went to work. Now apparently it's a lot of school districts--except Truckee Tahoe, which only gets Mon and Tues off--and it's like xmas week on steroids, but without relief from blackouts, except Monday. What a shitshow.
