Sonora opened, but looking like winter conditions. Friday is a window for me, but I'm not digging the forecast of a 35 high and clouds rolling in. Next week starts off with snow, so maybe some life left beyond.

The forum seems to be working so ......Send it. You never know when you won't be able to again.
It's looking like my last day of the lift served skiing this Saturday at PTOV... I'm the guy in the Hawaian print shirt.
Sweet conditions on Freel today

I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.
Skied Y today. Conditions were fantastic. Crux was crossing creak 30 yds from car.![]()
Ya that creek is often the crux. Nice pic
Thanks. That is kid 2. Kid 1 couldn't make it.
It's a bit of a slog (elevation was kicking my ass) getting up to Y and then the down once beyond the couloir was not great. A lot of sidehill. Not sure if we took the right line, but didn't seem like many options. We went up lookers left from the road a bit higher than deadmans and ended down at deadmans. Not sure how quick I'd go back to this line.
A young woman came up to me at the bottom of Y and said she really likes the way I ski...so I got that going for me [emoji23]

Well this will probably be my last post in the Tahoe thread. Last Friday we had planned on ebiking up Tioga before the road opened but the fire on 395 changed our plans to a local tradition I have paddling across Echo lakes to ski in the Desolation.
Are the forums coming back to life?
Had a blast last weekend at PTOV...crowds were navigable and skiing was enjoyable.
Maybe a roundtop session when Woods lake parking lot opens?
That's my post.
Well shit. I just now turned 60. And I’m sitting at 199 days for the season. What to do.
I’m gonna party like it’s the 4th of July.

Dude, I just turned 58 and I just cracked 90 days! 17 of those days were in the stellar May we’ve had in Mammoth.
Sitting in the ch 2 lot at Mammoth right now thinking about what to do now after skiing from 7:30-10:30 this morning. 199 days is very impressive. Good work!

We arrive tomorrow night with bikes and skis.
Any chance Stump Alley will still be running next week? Any snow left over there?

That looks like a "no". Just flipped to Closed for a the Season. Oh well. I just really prefer parking there.
Maybe they might get some more MTB open then. Still only have Shotgun basically. Was kind of hoping for Paper Route on down.

'67 was a great year[emoji16] I think I cracked 9 days. Actually I have no idea how many as I don't keep track...never have...but it was minimal. The quality was exceptional though.
I celebrated my birthday-day on Wednesday by skiing the chute from just to the skiers left of the Gazex up on Mt Rose Hwy (I call the area Lower Tamarack).
Snow was thick, smearable softserve.
Hit up Tahoe Meadows Interpretive Loop on Saturday late afternoon. Conditions were cuppy, but soft and smearable.
Chickadee Ridge still goes top-to-bottom and there are still some decent lines along the Tamarack Ridge.
Castle Peak still has some strips on the frontside and while the gate is unlocked and open, the 4x4 road up to Castle Pass is still covered in snow.
The northern west side of CP (which you see when driving east on 80 down around Kingvale) still has decent coverage as does Basin Peak.
Biked Connector and Corral on Monday. I thought they were in great shape. Someone on our climbed called it "sandy" and it was in expected places. But over all rode great.

A couple of mountain lion sightings--West end of Donner Lake, and Summit Canyon trail. More concerning--the deer mice in my house.
Those mountain lions make excellent mousers. Grab one and set it loose in your home.
