I'm curious to hear how it compares to the OG Fischer FR102, loved that ski in a 191 with the pink AF topsheet.

BC100 - What an absolute quiver-killer of a touring ski. Wow.

Going to pair down to these and my storm day touring skis and call it a day.

It’s not great skiing in Utah rn, but it makes for tons of different snow conditions and awesome testing, actually.

    Surfy recrystallized pow turns (check)
Full speed stability in consolidated (check)
Insanely nimble at low edge angles (check)
Slice thru mank like a reverse ski (check)

Dang. Can’t wait to get them back out tomorrow.

Marshall stoked and shredding on skis he made. That’s got to be a helluva feeling!

Trying to decide between the AM 100s and a backup of pair of R110s. Somebody sell me on the 100s? Saw some dude ride the bronco today. Bending the skis between each mogul turn and launching out of each turn into the next one before bending them and doing it again. Like 30 turns in a row. Looked old school and fun as fuck. AM100s gonna let me be good at that shit?

The first thing I noticed is the tips ability to absorb firm bumps. I’m trying to figure out skiing bumps and these make them feel a bit easier. That tip also can be bent into tighter turns but also holds an edge beautifully at speed. It’s a shitload of fun and I can’t wait to ski it tomorrow.

Also today was the first time in a long time where I only had 1 ski in the car…

I’ve had one day on my 180 AM100's. Day 8 of the season. Rain at mid and sticky snow up top. Finally starting to get some ski legs.

They’re damp and solid underfoot, yet you still can throw 'em sideways even at crazy speeds. They carve awesome, like really awesome....they love to go side-to-side with a more neutral, upright stance.

Not sure if they’re the bump ski that Shredeagle wants “eg. bending the ski and launching out of one turn into the next”… ya you can bend them, but these are kinda a more "serious feeling ski that is also pretty damn easy to ski". You can ski them either by rolling the ski over and engaging the whole edge, or by staying more upright/centered and kinda pushing down and out through the center of the ski, initiating the turn from the ball of your foot and through your heels, kinda pressuring through the tails? They are definitely the kind of ski where you feel invincible..... you watch your buddies take off, you wait a few seconds, then you start and let these things run and get up to speed, then you're skiing so damn fast, through any snow or terrain, at mach speeds that you pass your buddies by 1/2 way down.

I don’t think I’ve skied that fast through shit snow in a long time.

Pretty sure I almost died. Didn't care. Holy fuck.

Re edge hold…it's awesome. First run I was skiing with someone who was on Head Supershape e-Rally’s, it was kind of going from ice just turning to hard slush, that kinda really weird snow that was badly groomed the night before when it was soft. Not hero groomers. On the chair after that first run they said I’m having a bit of a hard time getting an edge to hold? I was staring in total shock and awe at my AM100's thinking WTF it was easy to get grip. The grooming was so uneven....so maybe the Head needed smooth snow to bite? The AM's just flew over hard bumpy shit and then gripped when needed. Kind of what K1mjong noticed with the AM tips ability to absorb firm bumps. These skis are really insanely confidence inspiring at speed in rough conditions.

Re. the recommended mount of -7cm….I’m at -6.3 cm and I do not feel too far forward. I think a bit ahead of the line is money.

PS - if anyone thinks HL skis are expensive....do the math. Three pairs of HL's (eg an R120, FR110 and AM100) are all you need inbounds for everything, and those three pairs cost less than the 10-12 ski quivers we've all been messing around with previously.

Since getting my first HL ski (FR 110) last spring I've sold 11 pairs (as these became irrelevant):

    SOLD:
    178 Blade Optic 114,
    178 Blade Optic 104,
    181 Head Oblivion 116,
    179 K2 Mindbender Ti 108,
    182 Black Crow Anima 115,
    182 Rossi BlackOps 98,
    177 K2 Reckoner 122,
    177 K2 Reckoner 112,
    179 Nordica Enforcer 88,
    185 Armada Whitewalker 116,
    183 Armada Whitewalker 121,

Probably selling these 2 pairs soon too:

    170 Head SuperShape e-Titan
    180 Season Aero 96

By my math (minus 13 pairs of skis plus 3 HL's = net -10 pairs of skis.....I'm making money on 10 less bindings alone!!

I'm pleasantly surprised, and very excited, to hear that so many of you praise the AM100's ability to haul arse and hold an edge.

I wonder how far off an LP105 they are, but time will tell.

Shortie day one review. Ripped around low tide conditions yesterday with upinsmoke and some other local friends. To say these things are a blast would be an understatement. Took about two runs to get used to them, but felt like I had owned the ski for years after. Turns shapes of all sorts are possible at faster speeds than I would have thought. Can't wait to get out on them again.

    Heritage Lab AM 100

Got a few good ski days on the AM100's on proper snow (eg. packed pow and decent groomers) with decent temps and good vis at WB the last few days.

Great all mtn ski.....with the AM100 you can rip groomers like a lunatic, then jump into a varied terrain, bump run like lower Insanity or Goat's and have a blast on both. 55 mph (90 km/hour Cdn sounds faster) is easy on these on regular groomers full of tourists. The AM's take more commitment to a turn than the FR 110, but if you ski them they will do what you ask. I won't ski the Head SuperShape e-Titans again. Irrelevant now. Marshal is making me money!

You should prob remove skis you've not skied from that list re BO98s. That you've changed your mind about trying a pair does not equal that something is irrelevant performance wise, so being a bit precise is probably in order hype/excitedness or not no?

First day out on AM100s today. They ski softer than they hand flex. Their tails and shovels are really easy to manipulate. Edge grip on par. They kinda feel like a more soft snow specific BO98 with more easygoing tips. They float well for their width if no ON3Ps by any means soft snow wise - meaning ssimilar width ON3Ps float better and are even looser but at the cost of hard snow prowess. I suspect BO98s will have superior grip on ice due to their titanal underfoot.

They are more than good enough to fill this quiver spot for me - I am a happy camper after day one. They are a terrific blend of attributes if not the end all be all for all skiers.

I need to revisit their tune a bit as they feel a bit cumbersome/sluggish at -1/-2 - I opted for the savings not to get the special treatment by Marshal so it is a bit of a work in progress. The base edge bevel is probably in need of a bit more refinement.

I mounted my 180 pair at 63.8cm from the tail (kinda random, meant to go rec at 64/-6 but the first tape bit went at 63.8 and just went with it).

I will happily recommend these. I skied them back to back with FR120STs today.

    .
    63.8cm from tail is like -26cm on a 180?
You should prob remove calcs you haven’t double checked, eg being a bit precise is probably in order. Haha.

PS by “irrelevant” I meant irrelevant for me to own as the 4 HL ski’s I currently have are covering a lot of inbounds conditions for me.

    wops, 83.8. So -6.2

I fully grasp what you are trying to say in your post - as I am sure that you are understanding my point that it is unnecessary to include skis you haven't actually skied in the list if you mean to speak to actual performance not just ownership.

I get your point. But I was speaking to ownership. Owning 4 HL skis (HB122, R120, FR110, AM100) eliminate the economic need to own other skis.

You two are adorable. I hope to ski with both of you wizards someday.

In the meantime- what ski does this AM100 over or under perform for a groomer-zoomer?

I don’t wanna name any other contenders to throw off your original thoughts.

by the way - I meant the "they ski softer than they hand flex" as a major compliment. Skis like Koala103s ski too stiff, meaning the ski light snow great due to their shape and then increasingly become a deflection fest as the conditions get worse - not enough suspension. These seem like they should have the umph to still be skied fairly hard due to a supportive flex pattern and enough weight, AND the suspension of a dialed flex pattern to not become more challenging to ski as conditions get more challening.

I am only one day in still, but they seem very promising.

We two adorable creatures are of a surprisingly like mind - and even follow the same logic for getting these skis. Sorry to be a bit of a pain here - I was a bit annoyed at the world - my bad

What other ski does the AM100 remind you most of/replace/supercede?

Will be getting my pair soon, but they won't see snow till July or August. Really curious, though (no shit!).

In other retarded news, I'm considering paring my quiver down to:
    - 187 HL 100AM
    - 192 LP105
    - 187 Praxis MVP
    - 187 Praxis Protest

Should do the trick for a surfing sea dweller.

Strong work on the mount point whore. I've been contemplating doing that same thing
