Start-up biz visa in Japan is a 50k investment (some of which can be company asset), one of the lowest on earth, You can buy a sub-30k house, There are GC's from several countries around Niseko, e.g., and a few business owners are sub-30 of age

How about Italy? A friend just bought two fully furnished townhomes in Abruzzo for 70k euros. There’s a ski area 30k away.

Jumping in here to say that CDLs are absolutely in short supply these days. If you can drive big trucks you can be paid big bucks.

To add, Billings is a ways away from skiing, hot as balls in the summer and not very cheap.

Livingston is a great small town, and because of that it ain't cheap.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Yeah, but Northport is a tiny dot of a town.

Colville is the center of industry in that zone and OP stands a reasonable chance of finding a job.

And it splits the distance between Canuck/USA ski hills... 1:10 to Red, 45 minutes to 49 North.

I'll bite. Poky has decent biking and skiing nearby. Like if you wanted to take some laps at the resort before/after work, you could. Same with biking. Where as in IF, it's pretty much a full day affair which leaves you to recreate on days off only. I'd get tired of an 1.5-2 hour drive (each way) to get my skiing/biking fix on days off.

Second, Poky is a college town and kind of has the blue collar, but up and coming feel of an Ogden type place. IF feels like endless farm land and sprawl to me and slightly meth-ier.

I know paycheck guys that work for a mostly local civil/utility excavator that primarily drive dumps and haul equipment that make $45/hr. with overtime available, pretty good benefits.

It's weird, the OTR guys seem to get shit but the more specialty trucking and operating jobs seem to pay pretty well. Now you start owning your own iron and hustling a bit and there is tons of opportunity. I constraint on that around here is that all of sudden commercial and industrial property got really expensive and scarce.

Which is probably inline with plumbers, electricians etc. with similar years of experience. Put not as much as window washers. Those guys start at $50 but it's seasonal, no benefits.

I'm a little more familiar with the 1099 world i.e. what I charge and what I pay. But that different. Gotta have some capital and a reputation to play that game.

I spent a month there one weekend fly fishing.
It’s got,(or had, this was a few years ago), one bar/restaurant. I have no idea what anybody does for money. Our guide had a prosthetic leg, cause his original was ripped off in some factory accident. He could only guide because of the settlement.

FYI, the folks around there when they visit my little tourist town, (Winthrop, WA), say they are from “near Spokane” while the whole family is wearing pro-2nd amendment black outfits, or Fuck Joe Biden t-shirts, or whatever. Actually I’m fine with the opinion, but why do your clothes have to be your whole being?
