Scoring goals is half of it, not letting the other team score goals is the other half. And playoff hockey is not the same as regular season. In particular defense is a lot tighter. Pretty common for big scorers to go cold in the playoffs. Even in the Canadiens series Ovechkin was on the bench when the Caps were protecting a lead in the third.

My prediction: in 30-40 years there will be a small subset of the US where that is still a reality. We used to be able to do it every winter where I grew up in NJ. Panthers beat Carolina pretty solidly despite going 7 games with that town up in canada.
Dallas is no joke, oettinger is a badass, and so is rantenen, and there are a bunch of good players on Dallas, but fuck Texas.

I really enjoy watching the Panthers play, so I see a rematch in the finals. Oilers will lose to the Panthers in 6.

i agree, florida, dallas and carolina arent real hockey towns, the only way kids grew up playing hockey in those towns is because they were rich kids with parents that have them play every sport possible growing up. outdoor skating is nearly impossible in those places.</p>
