    Heritage Lab BC90

I decided to give it a go after talking with Kai. He said that given the difference in how we ski that I should give it a go. I’m really happy with the change. I liked them a lot at -10 but they disappeared under foot at -8.

I think the front 2/3 of the ski being pretty stiff relative to the tail allows a more forward mount. The low continuous rocker helps too, if they had a flat section around the designed mount location I don’t think they’d be as forgiving of a more forward mount.

Great ski for wild snow of all types but deep unconsolidated snow.

OK so remounted this week and it's a totally different ski. I reused the front toe holes, which moved everything forward 2.7 cm

Way easier skiing, way more centered. Hit some corn, slop, crust, and crud in various places on the way down and everything felt easy. Possibly even easier than the BMT94, but noticeably lighter. Can still feel that they are more reverse than the BMTs (which are flat flat flat) but I'm not saying that's a bad thing, it makes a really quick pivot or a partial jump turn super easy. Great spring ski. Hoping to take them for a few days in the eastern sierra in a week or so.

    Dude! Sweet!

I am so glad. So it sounds like you are about -9.5 to -10 on the ski then. Sounds like I should update the mounts on the next batch based on this info.

Also. How do you post pics on these interwebz? It is totally gone and no longer an option for me. Am I stupid?

Yeah loving them now, just feel dumb I mounted them so far back initially.

And yeah seems like you can still post pics on tapatalk, but it has become pretty abominable to use in the last few weeks... really slow loading and making you sit though ads that can't be closed. So can't say I recommend using it.

These continue to impress, they’re so predictable in weird snow. Just a really good choice for an all conditions touring ski. I wouldn’t worry about them in steeper terrain, skied some graupel and new snow over very firm crust today. Sections were 40+ degrees and I never felt like they were lacking in edge hold

Big May dump in Tahoe this weekend and these were the only skis I had with me and they were really floaty for a 90 mm ski. Like obviously you'll sink if you're skiing low angle blower, but if you can get them going a little bit they are super fun in pow

I kept getting comments from people about how skinny my skis were but I don't feel like I missed out at all by not having something fatter. Click image for larger version.

Nice turns, brother. I think these skis punch way above their width. I mean, they're still 90mm waist, perhaps more importantly, 113mm tip, but they float and turn oh so nice in 5-10" of fluff.

BC90 (unskied) in outlet with voyager bindings is a fucking deal if anyone is looking.

What do you BC90 guys think of them for firm steep stuff? Adequate edge hold for scary skiing?

So far they’ve been fine, nothing super steep but around 40 degrees refrozen corn. Never felt like I’d lose an edge.

If you're good with BMT94s on steep stuff these should behave similarly. I also haven't been on anything really steep and hard with them, but could imagine a time when you'd want more sidecut. These jump turn like a dream though.

Took these on an eastern sierra trip last weekend with tgapp and had an excellent time, perfect ski for the conditions. We had pretty decent corn with the occasional unconsolidated aspect that was heavy and grabby. These skis strike a great balance for weight, easy to carry on long approaches but powers through the heavy snow.

The only issue I discovered was that they are a little slippery on icy skin tracks. I was slipping all over on kick turns on the way up bloody mtn while tgapp (on his BMTs) had no issues. I'm sure some of it was technique and skins etc, but that extra rocker on the BC90s likely contributed. Wasn't a huge deal, just put on the ski crampons and away we went, but I thought I'd mention it because it is a pretty direct comparison with the BMT94.

The Pomoca Climb Pro S-Glide skins are great for these skis. Great grip on icy snow as long as it’s not too much steep side hill/traversing. I like using ski crampons in those conditions regardless of the ski.

I've shared plenty of steep, icy skintracks with Tgapp, he does pretty well so I wouldn't attribute much of the difference to the skis. He's been skinning fully rockered skis on refrozen, blown out Wasatch skinners for years. I've skinned the BMT94 a lot and have done a few tours on the BC90, from my limited experience I wouldn't say that the BMT is better. The BC90 is better at sidehilling due to its narrower waist and straighter sidecut.

That’s the main thing I like about the BC90, the bigger radius. I loved my LD90’s with the big radius, and love the 176 bmt 94 but do feel I’m stuck with smaller turns

Yeah, you can crank out short radius hop turns/pivots or let them run on edge. I was a little concerned that they might be squirrelly with the rocker but they love speed

What’s general consensus on sizing vs ravens? I see the BC90 177 has a longer EE than a raven 184. For spring skiing size down or not? For reference 6’ 200lb

I'm about the same size as you and a bit lighter, I have the 184. I wouldn't go shorter unless you were exclusively looking for a tight couloir ski.

Hmm I ordered the 177cm pair in the outlet and am now having second thoughts about sizing. 6’ 175. This is going to be my less than sendy conditions ski so figure I’d size down.

I’m 5’11 and 170 and I think I would lean 177 for this ski. To me it’d be a spring mission ski where I want lightweight, edge grip and easy jump turns.

    Anyone disagree?

    Mounted my 177cm BC90s today.

Ended up at just shy of 80.5 from the tail, so around -9 I believe. Came out to 1650g/per ski with plum guide toe and R185 w/K14 tracks.

Wanted to try this ski with near flat delta and I was able to reuse old bindings and holes which is rad (thanks for the heels/plates Marshal!)

Gunna get out on these things as soon as the snow flies. Nice thing about used skis is I don’t feel like waiting till there is enough base first haha

EDIT: Holy shit wtf happened to my post.
