    Lange RX vs Lange LX

Anybody know if the Lange RX and LX share the same heel pocket? I know LX is supposed to be the HV boot with a 102mm last but concerned the heel pocket is also bigger. I have one of those hobbit feet with wide forefoot, highish instep, and relatively thin (in comparison to instep and forefoot) ankles. Trying to decide between RX and LX. Will require boot work with either but shooting for a more precise snug fit in the ankle area.

I’m not sure about the LX but I know the LV and MV RX have basically the same heel pocket.

Are you trying to shotgun a boot purchase? Why not go get fit and make sure you get what you want?

The most locked in my heels have been is in a Zipfit, but start with the right shell for your foot.

Ya. Go get fit for sure. A 102 should be very easy to get into a rx. And I would find a shadow to try on too

Unfortunately my foot is much wider than 102 so either LX or RX will require the forefoot to be punched but my ankle is narrow for the width and hence the predicament. My current boot is a Rossignol Allspeed, which has the 102mm last, which used to be analagous to the Lange SX but the SX is no longer sold and they've changed the lasts - the RX is roomier so assuming LX is also roomier than before. Just don't know how much roomier and the LX boots are hard to find in my size (27.5) and stiffness (at least 120), even at the local boot shops in town.

Anyway... let me ask a different question. How wide would a bootfitter be able to blow out the RX with a 100mm last. I think my foot measures around 110ish mm.

I don't have any experience with those exact shells, but I do have a few other langes. I have a similar foot, in that I have a mega wide forefoot and a relatively narrow heel.

FWIW, I went from a XT3 LV to a Shadow MV, and the heel pockets are almost identical.
In fact, the Shadow MV might even be a bit more snug in the heel, but I'd also attribute that to my XT3's being kinda blown out.

I think the LX is more 'comfort' boot though, so it may be bigger all around. I'd look for a MV RX or MV shadow to try on.

but try them on with a fitter.

    easy. You're good.
my forefoot measures 128mm in a 29.5, and have have many LV langes punched wide enough (so call that a 103mm starting point when you scale 97last in 26.5 up to 29.5).
Shadow MV was definitely no problem, and I haven't gone back for any re-punches.
