Every TV brand over time gets left behind as app developers try and add more stuff, need move memory or storage to do the same. Every Samsung TV I've had at least had a full remote with keypad and not just up and down arrows, volume and a settings or menu button.

I’d hope that given the Amt of public funding all leagues depend on in one form or another they should be required to at least provide a free broadcast of the local teams
They want to sell seats in their stadium or arena first and foremost. If they have every home game on without the event being a sell out, then they start to play to a few fans in the first 5 or 10 rows and the rest being empty and going unsold.

Want to watch any NFL Games on Christmas you have to add one more streaming service to the list. Already have to have Amazon Prime, Peacock, ESPN, and now also Netflix.

Do any of the Peacock packages include the local sports channel? Specifically the Boston one for folks who live in what the other streaming services consider "in market"?

I don't know which sports channel you specifically are talking about. There was I believe NE Sports Network Channel (maybe was Bally's owned?)- but streaming of it according to searches mention: "For one, most streaming services don't carry NESN — and yes, that sadly includes fan favorites like Hulu and Sling. So, what's a die-hard New England sports fan to do? You'll want to shift your gaze to services like DIRECTV STREAM and Fubo. Both of these options carry NESN, along with a treasure trove of other channels that are essential for fall sports lovers."

Peacock does cover some of the NBC Sports premium channels. Olympic coverage for the years that there is an Olympics and NBC gets the broadcast rights, Tour de France, and other sports can be found on it. Some NFL playoff games were on it last year also. Ski racing coverage also (some not live) It is being offered for $19.99 for the year right now. So sign up and check it out. Do not forget to turn off auto renewal so you can decide to keep it (they renew at of course a higher month rate for the full year #2, etc.)...

Specifically NBC Sports Boston channel. It's part of the line up for my area on Xfinity (duh, Comcast owns NBC), YouTube TV, Hulu live TV, etc. it carries almost all of the Celtics games up until I think 2nd round of the playoffs. It even carries the games when there's a local blackout if the game is on a national channel. Getting this as cheap as possible is my Holy Grail of streaming.

How much skiing does peacock actually show? That would be the only thing that would tempt me. Pretty difficult to find a decent source to watch it on youtube.

Also available on Fubo in SWNH. We get the Boston channels down here.

It's spotty, but they are doing Killington this weekend. 2nd run women's GS on now.

Fubo is a similar price as YouTube TV which is what I have now. It gives me my local northwestern VT stations plus NBC Sports Boston because I'm "in market." I'm looking for dirtbag prices so I can cut my costs. I need MSNBC, CNN, and NBC Sports Boston. Sling Blue has the first two but not the last one.

Anyone with the top Peacock package who can tell me if they have NBC Sports Boston? I can't figure out from the website if it's included. It just says local NBC station.

Not all the races, but some are there live. They had the 2nd run of the Killington women's GS today on, showing most of the racers and then the award ceremony. They may did not had the 1st run- an earlier start- 10:00 am and then 1:00 pm for the second run. Tomorrow they show same schedule- 10:00 am for first Slalom run, 1:00 pm for the second.

Check and see if Peacock is running any trials. They were for a while but then they stopped for a while also when they had big sports events so people would not be able to trial and then never pay and see the events.

Didn't know that gmail trick, good to know. This year I finally got wise and jumped on the hulu/disney+ deal. Switched from my email to Mrs. DJSapp's email. Will do it again next year, might try the + thing for shits and giggles.

Max will just straight out offer you their deal if you cancel right now, just before the confirm cancelation screen.
Wait, how can we trust this guy^^^ He's clearly not DJSapp

Google and Gmail also allows periods and ignores them anywhere in the left side. So as an example if you email address is JohnDoe at gmail.com you can use john.doe at and some think that is another different email address. Then you do j.ohndoe@ and jo.hndoe etc if the site or service you are using is thinking it is a different site.

For anyone fresh to the Disney streaming universe if you haven't gotten there already allow me to recommend this...

YoutubeTV just emailed saying they’re bumping monthly rates up by $[emoji637][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]] for $[emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji640]][emoji638].[emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]]]/mo

    FUCKING IOS/TGR-APP
[YoutubeTV is going up $10 to $82.99/mo]

That’s my threshold. I’m gonna cancel.

But I’m gonna miss live sports & the traditional big games & playoff runs

So, what’s a cheaper if not quite as good option for sports access?

Ya. Im realizing that we don't really use most of it. I watch some basketball. During the regular season, that means NBC Sports Boston for the Celtics. I also need TBS, TNT, CBS, ESPN. The NBA channel adds a few games. My wife watches MSNBC and CNN, usually on her phone. I have the Hulu, Disney, ESPN+ bundle. I occasionally watch a local channel. We have Netflix, Apple TV+, and Prime. It's getting out of hand.

If I gave up on "needing" the NBC Sports Boston channel, Sling Blue plus adding Paramount would keep us happy-ish. There's also a Hulu Live bundle that ticks all the boxes and comes in a little cheaper than YouTV. I've thought about switching, but I have to call them. You can't get it to show you the option on the web if you have the Hulu triple bundle and want to keep your same login.

Remember when we thought streaming would be better than cable? That was nice.
