Good idea. I have a couple that work but are they ever too old to be safe? I haven’t resort skied for five years and am getting back on the horse. The bindings I am using were old when I bought them used 10 years ago.

Sth are pretty current. Might still be indemnified.
I use them. Gen 1 has the classic pattern.
But even old bindings are fine. It’s not hard to pull the din spring and clean and relube them.
My only concern on an old solly would be caked crusty grease.
In theory one could argue that a spring being compressed for decades is weaker. I’m not sure about that myself. But that horse has been beaten around here.
Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason
Slap some 1st gen STHs on them and dont look back

watch out for snakes
I have recently tested some of the older sollys including 957,977,997 and they come out spot on, and much better than some of the current bindings.
Like the idea of checking/replacing spring grease.
I don't have access to the most recent Salomon Tech Manual, but the first generation STH Driver series bindings were still indemnified as of the 2021 manual.
STH 16 Driver bindings are on all of my alpine skis. They remain safe to use.
