Yeah, not my hill, glad I got lucky one time. I've had a good number of great deeeeep days out Fish Creek Falls way, that was a sure thing.

That's pretty much how I feel - it was nice to be there on that particular day. Ridiculously deep up in those wonderful trees... 1st time I thought that perhaps skis wider than 96 underfoot might be a better tool.

You remember that day exactly, that's cool. It's all a big blur for me, over the years. 2012 seems kinda late to think about fat skis though, hahaha.

Beaver Creek has very nice aspens now that I think about it. But I think Monarch takes the prize for evergreens since they thinned out the beetle kill. And it's a steeper pitch, really fun.

I mean... I'd been skiing Colorado since '93/'94 so the 96's WERE fat skis...

And it was this day, so yeah - I remember distinctly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7oi83XvagY

Ajax & Highlands also have some *really* nice evergreen glades. Ajax has some really nice aspen glades as well.

Great. Now I want to go do some tree skiing.

Yep...we got trees and bumps in the trees!

Monarch is a great hill. Its lack of radness is it's radness. And like Shera, the memories all run together but it is the memories that keep me coming back!

Tree skiing in Steamboat's not too bad.

I had an epiphany the first time skiing aspens:
    "I can see!"

Plus Taos' lodgepole pines are sweet and steep.
    Mmmmm, Meatball (sandwich, that is).

This summer, we’ll be aiming to build the access road, extend the powerline, and begin cutting runs. The 3-person 2,700-feet-long fixed grip lift, warming hut and restroom facility construction will begin in the summer of 2025.

New runs are mostly cut in. Lots of roadwork and infrastructure. Gonna be some fine glade skiing.
