Another angle, from a buddy who flies planes as a hobby every now and again.

Looks like one more run to be cut under the diagonal road cut in the upper left. It will bisect the area previously known as the 3 week glade as it was good powder skiing for weeks after a storm. Guess that ship will sail away forever next season.

Yeah I thought the same RE: the run that still needs to be cut in. Any idea when they intend on getting the lift in there? I'm assuming that's *not* a 24-25 season thing, but there's still a pile of decent weather weeks left and they are moving quickly it seems so who knows.

Figured I'd find a reference to the timeline somewhere in the blog...

The electric feed will be extended over to the new lift terminal next summer as the lift is being built.
I'll have to get at least a couple jelly on the sidecountry laps in there this season. I blame whipski for not having done that yet.

Do they open the whole mountain since they're natty?

No dice for opening this week, and not a lot of snow in the Fx over the next week or so. Maybe they'll plow the parking lot and dump all that snow up on the hill somewhere...

I have a slope side condo in Aspen.
Skico doesn't want our snow from the parking lot, because it's contaminated. But they'll take the snow we shovel off the roof.

The website says please use the stairs for uphill travel and avoid the area between the lodge and patrol as they're farming snow for the base area from the lots. Tomer is predicting a foot from the cycle next week.

Probably the worst first day at Monarch I've had in the last 4 seasons... but also because it's the first time I've gone on opening day ever. I usually wait until December. All said, bluebird skies, a few soft turns to be found, some mach chicken groomies, I'll take it. Now to do a hot lap on the local mountain bike trails in town this afternoon.

I probably won't make it, but you never know. Working M-W, then T-gives in Gunni at my sister-in-law's casa.

What's the better town to chill either side of wolf Creek? Free hot springs in Pagosa. Cheap hot springs? Why are some hot springs in Colo 70 fucking dollars for a 20 min soak?

Come watch me flail in 30" this week -out of shape washed up

There's free hot springs in Pagosa right on the river. There's also cheap options at Overlook and Healing Waters. I may be able to hook you up at Overlook since Junior works there. I'll ask when she gets home later today.

Would love to ski with yop at Wolfy, but I ain't giving those cocksuckers a fucking dime this season.

Yo, BobBAY. It's $17 all-day at Healing Waters and $30 all-day at Overlook.
