Converting 142 thru axle to 135 QR?

The wheels on my 2017 Kona Sutra LTD are getting to the end of their lives. The frame is 9x100 front and 9x135 rear hub spacing. I've had a tough time finding a strong wheel with 24mm (or wider) rims with the narrow spacing. I came across this vid that suggests all hubs are essentially the same width except for the end caps that can be replaced. Is this true or just for the Hunt wheels he is converting?

    Thanks.

Yes, 142mm through axle is the same width dropouts as 135mm qr.
However, not every hub will have the desired qr end caps available. Check before you buy a wheel.
or have a shop or QBP build you a wheel to order.

Interesting I had the same Idea a couple of days ago and, after asking around I ordered adapters from... (is it allowed to write AliExpress here?)
Just mind the rear is 135x10mm, not 9.
I double checked measuring a rear wheel I have here.

What I ordered are just adapters from TA to QR and I intend to use skewers I already have.
