basically first to worst in era and runs scored, 7 series dropped in a row while going 5-15. baseball is weird.

Sox with the series win in the BX!
I feel like Judge is a bit like A-Rod. Puts up big numbers but usually when it doesn’t matter. Devers is kinda like Ortiz in that way but oppo. Numbers generally not so impressive but the guy you want when a big play is needed.

it’s not even close man. the truth is that if he isn’t Casey at the Bat the yanks lose. if he is, they win, like when they played two and half months of .710 ball or before he went kool aid man through the dodgers pretend outfield wall.

another stat i like wpa/li which normalizes win probability added to situation. 5.0 is excellent and he is at 5.05 this year

just a shitty series.

Guardos send 5 to the midsummer classic, more than any other AL team and hold the best record in the AL on July 7. I didn’t have this on my bingo card for 2024, but I’ll take it!

Wow, nice!
Nola on the mound going for the sweep vs the Dodgers tonight. Even w the injuries Phillies keep winning.

Harold Reynolds (a guy I have always enjoyed listening to when it comes to his thoughts on baseball) was on a radio show I listen to yesterday and it was kind of fun for a few reasons: (1) it forced him to give some flowers to the small market Guardos after leaning on some way outdated tropes for his analysis on them and the division on his show last week (and admit he hasn't really watched much AL Central baseball), and (2) it was fun hearing him describe how the NYY fanbase is melting down despite being only 2 games out and 22 games over .500.
Baseball is a funny game.

can confirm the freakout. but really, how do you go 50-22 and then lose 17 of your next 23? no team has a worse era over that span. they had led the league in runs and can now barely score. soto and judge are so out of whack, they don’t see any pitches because there’s no need to with no one else in the lineup. it’s so weird and it’s the third year in a row with boone and cashman saying the same shit over and over.
only two games out but i’d prefer if they sold everything that isn’t nailed down and fired cashboone out of a cannon.

Oh I don't doubt the meltdown, it's really confounding to see the tale of two (first) halves with that team.
Also, I was yesterday years old when I found out that Cashman has been the GM of the Yanks since 1998!?!? How does anyone in New York survive that long? What dirt does he have on them?

And there's the sweep. Otani a K machine this series, and Turner crushing his old team. Good times
and the yanks drop their seventh (?) series in a row. it’s just sad. I bet Varitek is looking at these guys right now just thinking about how pathetic it all is.

Don’t feel bad, fellow League-leaders, the Guardos got in on the L game too dropping 3/4 to the lowly Motor City Kitties.
FFS.

Back to back humiliating losses to the Tigers after getting easily swept by the Phillies. The Dodgers look like complete shit and are hard to watch at this point. Thank God for the All-Star break.
Sorry 'bout Biggio eh.
