I slept maybe 5 hours in the past 4 days. Finally got the tele doc to get me some steroids and it is rapidly improving.
Yeah, I had one and couldn't lift my arm above chest height. Freaked me the f out. I could lift it higher with my other arm, so I knew could go, but it didn’t on its own. Sleeping was hell. I didn't want to go. I almost became an alcoholic just to get to sleep. I cannot say enough good things about my time with the upper cervical chiro doc. It takes a lot of time and effort to train your muscles and ligaments to hold your head on straight, but it happens. It's an ongoing process as every mtn bike crash, ski tumble, or just hitting your head can knock it out of whack slightly.

Oh I can sprint... I mean "sprint". Though it's a losing battle, I do try to maintain some kind of VO2max. It's humbling when my bleeding edge 400m lap is at a slower pace than some marathons I ran when younger.

What I can't really do much of any more is trail running, at least anything with more than a little downhill. The knees don't like it. A sustained uphill trail run (ha ha, jog, sort of) I can do, and I walk down.

As for memorable concerts: SNACK Sunday at Kezar in SF, Grateful Dead, Dylan, Santana, Neil, and more, $5.

Also practiced baseball with son recently. He wanted to hit some high pops to me in the outfield...when i tried to run under them my vision was bouncing all over the place trying to track the ball. Don't remember that happening in high school.
Young goat: Can we sprint the last quarter mile?
    Old goat: I am sprinting

I had to stop running about 8 years ago due to serious back problems. Over the years my back and sciatica has improved a lot and I've started running again. But after 8 years plus a bad ski accident and a big heart operation both of which laid me up for months the best I can manage is a mile about 2/3 "running" 1/3 walking. I did manage a quarter mile without stopping the last time. I do leg blasters--the running is a LOT harder.

Working in the OR for years really can ruin your spine. I’m doing okay after 35 years but it’s a struggle some days. One of my best friends is getting ready to retire, he’s a general/thoracic surgeon and he’s a wreck at 69.

Bought a pair of Skechers shoes today, marketed as Hands Free Slip-Ins, No More Bending.

Immediate thought upon wearing them is oh yea, these are my new go to footwear.

Not as much as sliding down 45 degree ice into a tree can.

69 is old for a cv surgeon. Time to retire and go into politics.

My older brother and sisters dragged me to Ted Nuggent and the Amboy Duke’s , Journey to the Center of the Mind show 1968.

First show on my own was Jethro
    Tull Aqualung 1971.

Had a cousin (Female) who was really into the Monkees. So much so she went to see them live and Jimi was the opener (67). Kinda blew her mind and after that she was not such a Monkees fan. She also made it to Woodstock.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

At least that's a noble way to screw yourself up. Staring at a computer and phone is a pretty embarrassing way to injure yourself. PT said it is super common n ow, and business is good.

A sign that you are getting old: Being interested in the '24 Stones tour pre-sale.
