    Signs We Are Getting Old

LOL, just had "I'm officially Old" moment. Going through the TSA scanner, agent takes one glance, and asks "Do you have any replacement joints, such as a hip or knee?"

    Fuck me.

I jokingly asked her "Do I really look that old?"
She replied "Not really, but you look the type"

I look younger than I am. Sure don't feel it though.

Was talking to USAA 2 weeks ago, and they gave me the same thing, it was 30 years.

I’m so old I remember waiting with friends at the airport gate and hugging goodbye before the walked on the tarmac and onto the plane.

I've had perfect vision my whole life. Just started using reading glasses and I'm thinking about getting a sweet eyewear retainer for them.

Apparently getting off the ground or any uncomfortable movement requires me to groan.

9/11 put an end to that. You would really be old if you remember smoking butts/joints in the smoking section towards the rear of an airplane, or flying on a commercial plane where the WC was actually large enough to join the mile high club.

You know that you are getting old when you can't remember the last time you got out of bed without back pain, or when walking a few miles you can't understand why your knees and legs feel like they are going to give out for no reason.

When I wrecked my shoulder it wasn't from crashing a bike or motorcycle, or a horse wreck, or playing mud ball, or anything like that. I was leaning down to go into a crawlspace.

When you hurt yourself and it wasn't from doing anything fun, that's a sign you're getting old.

I'm the only one in my entire family that doesn't wear glasses. Vision was always perfect. I've been noticing especially at night that it no longer is. Any light such as headlights, reflective signs or the moon I see multiples of, slightly offset. No problems during the day yet.

And yeah, getting up after crouching or kneeling down getting to be a struggle.

When you’re fully onboard with the program you don’t keep them on a retainer. Besides the pair that is always atop your head you’ll have a spare pair in every place you frequent. You’ll have a pair in your car, on your bedside table, out in the garage, in your fly pack, etc…

Amazon is a great resource, buy the cheap six packs.

I have to wear safety glasses at work and almost always have sunglasses on. It's going to take me some time to figure out the most acceptable solution going forward. I also recently changed any of my work tool bags to brighter colors (style be damned) than black so I could see stuff at the bottom.

Way ahead of you. I got the 3 or 4 pack from Costco.

    Ha! Youngsters.

I remember skiing in knickers and knee socks, using leather boots with laces that I’d tighten with a T-hook (same as my hockey skates), and wooden skis that broke in half on my first day.

There's lots of bifocal safety glasses on Amazon.

They have little magnification patches you can stick on your expensive shades to add a bifocal reading function to them.

5 years ago reading glasses for reading really small print, threading a needle, etc... Today reading glasses for everything but driving... and the eye doc said it's 100% normal for my age. The even made me wear the over the counter readers for the eye chart test.. and called it 20/20 WITH the readers. I wouldn't even be able to read the top without them.
