Skiings good this week; I’ve only made it out for a few quick laps but the snow and coverage is solid.

2-3” and snowing hard on the stakes tonight. Should be nice tomorrow. I’ll be at Ajax in the afternoon

Shoot me a text when you head out. Trying to meet up with an old friend but not sure I’ll have time to get to Snowmass

Ajax was $$ this am. Like, surprisingly good. NE aspects had the snow bond really well so it skied much deeper than it is.

Snowmass was really good as well.
Snowed hard most of the morning and another cell is moving thru now.

Tomorrow it’s Aspen Mountain in the AM and then we’re having a sled party at Grants Cabin on the backside.

Very happy with how the afternoon skied on Aspen. My wife was out in the morning and said no one was skiing; it showed. Really not that tracked by 1-2pm. Got real wet though with the rain/graupel coming down

How do you think Aspen will ski tomorrow? Did it get wet enough it'll be refrozen and crusty?

Deciding between aspen and highlands. Was the bowl open today? Any guesses on tomorrow?

Up high should ski fine. Never got that warm. Below Kleenex will refreeze weird but in think most higher aspects will be good at Ajax. Highlands should be fine. Bowl should have been open most of the day

I think it will be outstanding everywhere.

Just a heads up. The Elks are having their picnic at west Sunday, so you family types won’t be able to park there.

Great 35th anniversary skiing with the lady at Snowmass. Lunch at Sam’s, then dinner at Catch.

Catch is a scene. An expensive scene. I must say though, their food is excellent. Was surprised on how good their sushi was. Congratulations on 35!

Oh, the 2 hour delay, or what should be used way more than it is around here but messes up everyone’s day

We’re in a mountain town. Call a snow day for big storms only. Summit County calls one every 10 years. This is the result of a superintendent from Pennsylvania, where delays are the norm.

100%. (and a super on his way out)

No more delays, only real snow days that are warranted. I drive a school bus every day in all conditions. The “safety” argument for delayed starts is massively subjective and doesn’t inherently benefit Hwy 82 travelers.

1” in town, 2” on the stakes and it’s not snowing…

Looks like 3-4” on the stake and no wind. Enough to take Thing 1 out for a powder morning.

I might try. I managed a VX lap with the boys a few weeks ago and still made my bus route by 9:45

ETA: squeezed some quick lemonade out of the lemons

    Got to love Buttermilk!

We’re having a hat party at Shadow Mountain, Sunday at noon.

Catch rules. One of the few newer spots where the price is justifiable.

Well, I guess I’ll have to make a date up there for that sort of endorsement.
