So how hard is it to swap out brakes on Look Pivots?

I got 130s on pow boards and wish to swap these to a 96 waisted ski.

I found brake sets at Als skibarn.

    Is it doable?

It is. You just need to pull the bottom of the heel piece off. I’m guessing there is probably a YouTube video somewhere out there.

Did you get a new baseplate with the 95mm brake? Unscrew the forward pressure adjustment arms on your old heel piece/dildo, then screw the heel piece/dildo to the new brake base plate. It's easier if you have already have the baseplate screwed to the ski.
I got about 40 seconds into that video before I lost my mind in how to do it the wrong way.
I can probably switch a pair of Pivot brakes in about a minute. I've done 3 today already.

That's because you're not buying new brakes, you're buying new heel base plates that happen to have a brake width that better matches your skis.

You can also disassamble base unit and bend the brakes. That's what we used to do before wide brake version were available.

Holy crap waxman, I didn't know they sold a base plate, brake kit. Man, if I did, it sure would have saved me a lot of time and agrevation.

Swapping dildos between assembled base plates = simple. Swapping brakes between baseplates requires 2 sets of hands and willingness to sacrifice some flesh (ask any experienced tech).
