NH has Tenney back open, but geez what a horrible season to try an get back on their feet. They've been closed for several yrs until now. It's a great little hill. Cannon is State owned, so just under a $100. Whaleback is cheap if you live up that way. That place is a nice indy success story so far. Black mtn NH is just under a $100 too. Many other ski hills from my youth are gone. Cannon is the best value without a doubt, but it also depends where you live.

Ah, yeah that's right. They opened last year but late if I remember correctly. Previous yrs they were closed, but prepping to open. Some of the trails were reforesting and becoming thwacky as hell...unskiable. They also were grooming a skin track for the earn ur turn crowd which was super cool. I had a pass there way back with my kids when they were little. Fun low key hill.

Did you hear about the constipated accountant?

37º and currently socked in bob. Rain stopped a while ago but not until an impressive 2 3/16" of liquid snow suck had fallen. Mad crested at flood stage and is now dropping, thankfully. Worst Winter Ever

^^ yikes. last night was looking to be cold earlier in the week.

    glad the waters are subsiding!

and *hopefully* this one is indeed the worst ever!

fun fact: 3 weeks ago i ended my jiminy night sesh after just 2 runs due to a crunchy-hard track and brutally cold headwinds.

what i'd pay for some of that now.
i've skied all of ONE days since.

East coasters - looks like I'll be living in south central CT next ski season. What are reasonable options for skiing with young kids who don't need any more terrain than a blue? What else does a west coaster need to know about living, skiing and recreating on the East Coast? What should I make sure I and the kids experience for our 1 year stint on the eastern shores?

Will you only be skiing with kids (locally?) or are you looking to sample the goods farther afield?

Make sure to wash your car a lot for luck. We need it.

Skiing K tomorrow am. PM if you are interested. I'll be in blue helmet, blue/yellow saga jacket, and either orange or gray pants. Ask for change.

Do you have two pairs of ski pants or do you have the option of turning one pair inside out? This seems like important information for us to have.
