I just posted in the upstates thread. Any freezing drizzle today? Any soft snow or that top coat you mention is crust?

    Looking to head up tomorrow.

Great day. Got the rope drop on the ungroomed runs at Sun Bowl and then hit the creamy bumps with MNIAW at Magic.

    Buttah, let's ski next week.

Even if the skiing stinks, YMSB should be great. Pro tip, BYO.

East Coast Roll Call 23/24_The Guns Are Blowing

Yes for sure, thanks for the treats! Sun Bowl looks creamy, I was over there earlier this week, firm, but manageable crust under some, nice surfy fourth buckle pow. I got out for five laps on Suntanner for lunch. Perfect spring-like snow. It’s gonna a busy weekend at the ski hills, up and down the East Coast. The buyers show was at Stratton this week for the Mid-Atlantic shops. Really good folks all around, they have the stoke. I almost want to drive to Scranton to hang with the Ski Shack crew at Mt Montage. Second steepest trail in the East, wut-wut! And, The Office happened there. Is Scranton sweet or what? 1,000 vert hill and The Office?

Skied Magic today. The mountain is skiing fabulously and amazed at the coverage given the lack of snow. Click image for larger version.

If rained all the way to Arkville, and then turned to snow.

Snowed all day at Plattekill, no rain, added up to maybe two inches. It was snowing pretty good when I left at 3:30.

The trails were well covered and anything groomed skied well. Ungroomed definitely improved with skier traffic.

We skied trees all day but I wouldn't recommend it. If you insist, stay up high, where the snow is "deeper" and more consistent.

Today was good, yesterday was better. Life has gotten in the way of skiing a lot but I've been lucky enough to hit some pretty good daze.

Really fun day skiing with Goniff and a few others at Magique.

Probably not skiing this weekend because I can ski weekdays so why bother?

Can't travel for life reasons but the outlook is good. IYKYK.

    Skiing is fun...

All Snow... the 11.5" that came in Monday settled to Maybe 6" with zero skier compaction till 8:45 this AM. 2+" last night of 20% and a consistent 1"hr snow through 11am and kicked on again at 1pm through closing. Tomorrow's refrozen won't see any Sun. Sunday's the day if it's an option. Blue Bird with a high of 40 and lotza solar.

Thinking of going back up myself.

Shockingly fun day at K Mart today, nice topcoat of soft creamy snow on most everything and temps stayed Goldilocks zone to keep it from freezing or glopping up. Ice crust definitely lurks beneath. But surprisingly good day, with good Bluegrass tunes from Grain Thief ,including some soldi Dead covers.

Looking forward to YMSB tomorrow. , saw them a bunch many years ago, always a good time. . Old avalung pack full of beverages for the win also.

Pumped you had a good one, Bucket and Spanky.

A bit late but some of my pics from Friday at Plattekill. Not proud of skiing low tide, but we did have fun.

Speed races are scheduled, so there's a decent chance of snow regardless of the forecast.
