Oh yeah, Meter-Maid-Man said that future tickets (after the first one) get more expensive.

    PT's FAQ page has this:

While we hope our guests will be a part of the solution, and not the problem, initial violations assessed by our third-party provider will start at $100. If not paid within 10 days, it will increase to $200. Subsequent violations are subject to increasing penalties including season pass suspension and tow. Additional information on penalties and resolution are available at parkpalisadestahoe.com
I bet your pass gets suspended on the third violation.

As far as the bear--obviously the skier almost ran into the bear, not visa versa. The bear was clearly ahead and had the ROW. But that's what I would expect from SLT skers.
Lol this second comment cracked me up. Fecking SLT skiers.

They really did that it's not someone's joke,
Also. I don't know how they can write a tix then turn off someone's pass, It's not like I give ikon the license plate of every car I own. Some people have burner phones I have a burner car.

Now this is just a hypothetical scenario, but what do you think would happen if a vehicle didn’t have a license plate? Maybe it unknowingly to the driver fell off on the way there?

If its run by a 3rd party, I'd imagine they incentive the staff. For every tag you nab, you get a $5 voucher toward lunch.

Wondering if worth the drive out to KW tomorrow? They look to have many ungroomed runs.

My buddy texted me from KW today. He said off piste is boney as a MFer and he said the top wouldn’t last until this weekend.

That info changed my skiing plans for later in the week. I guess I’ll go session Ridge Run at Heavenly again.

His tik tok name, selfie stick and filming down ridge make it clear tao 7570 is from the Bay Area. That bears a south lake loc dog. Dodging clueless bay-sins is just a part of the game at heave.

    - snowmobile acquired
    - multiple new boards in a variety of shapes, sizes and disciplines
    - all gear tuned, waxed and ready by 11/1
    - snows on cars by 11/1
    - all winter yard/property prep done by 11/1

    Locked and loaded
I tried to help us all out be being totally unprepared.

I did blow it by buying new pow sticks, though....

They apparently left headroom for such a situation. We'll see when it actually gets busy. Next week after the precip should be a good test. I think there will a big lunch time rush for folks that haven't reserved. The parking lots will still park out, but it may help with AM congestion. My personal feel is that it will have very little positive outcome, but then I'm a pessimist.

At the risk of being an apologist for the evil empire it seems to me that the parking reservation system will probably cost Palisades money--the paid reserevations and fines probably won't cover the cost of running it.

It does seem, from the site, that parking at Olympic Valley is fully booked for this weekend. AM has space available. Could be a glitch, but if that is truly the case, then parking is going to get reserved pretty quickly this winter.

Based on their method, how will they ever determine if someone made a reservation and simply did not show up? And I'm sure there is someone out there working on a program to automatically reserve themselves a spot every weekend. It may be hard to find spots even two minutes after they open up.

As for the sharks at KW - were they also over in the rabbit runs and Jims to fireball zone? Asking for a friend.

Depends on how big your balls are and how much you wanna thrash your bases. They are there lurking and waiting to pull your ticket for the ortho clinic or to prep your bases for another round of Ptex.

Snow was really good though in between the rocks I found. Hope this next cycle delivers

I thought the same thing as your first paragraph. Parking at OV was unavailable 1 hour after it opened. Hopefully there isn’t 10mph wind gusts so the Base-to-Base isn’t on wind hold. (85 million for such fragility!)

I know for a fact some people are reserving every weekend, but not caring if they actually show up or not. I can’t say I blame them. Previously they would just show up whenever they had time, now they have to do this to get as many ski days in

Excluding manmade they got like 9" or so on top of dirt...similar to elsewhere.
Thanks for the intel maggots. Not heading to KW, but farting around at Rose

simply not true. there was close to 2' in the upper zones prior to the prior to the 17" in December and down low there is an ice layer at the bottom covering up most stuff. I would think Monte's and sentinel would be mostly fine but everything between zacks and sentinel will be pretty sharky other than maybe lower chamois which is usually good early.
This was all natural snow on buckboard on November 20 (starting at 36 sec).

I’ve been ragging on Palisades but it’s nice that OV has some black diamonds open. I definitely need some ptex.

I agree, the open hike to terrain has been good in comparison with the rest of the offerings.

Kirkwood was good today. Very little is groomed, the bumps on Zacks are super fun and chalky, you'll hit some stuff in there but it's ding your board up hits, not major injury hits. Sentinel was good, less bumped out fun chopped up snow. The stuff in between is skiable and more filled in then I expected, but I was cautious. The skied out stuff I was comfortable opening it up. The worst thing I had happen was hitting a superslick man-made patch at the bottom of zachs unexpectedly and falling on my ass

I'm annoyed by this entire situation and I'm new to squallyworld, so I'm a big part of the problem.

I'm actually kind of regretting buying a pass. My friend and ex-housemate didn't buy a Squaw pass this year. First time since 90-91, except for one season when he was at Crested Butte. That says a lot to me on how fd up Squaw has become. He opted for SB instead.

^^^^ Actually realizing there is there is a concert there this weekend and might be why spots are sold out.

To answer someone else question about mid week at Olympic Valley, I was there last Thursday and skied right on to every single lift. Even got a private cabin up the fun at around 11:30AM. Really was pretty empty.

So I doubt that the lot is filled with skiers this weekend, but people going to the concert at the Village.
