Hoping to get a family pass and VIP parking for Sunshine next year. I received an email from Louise for next years passes at early renewal prices. I have not received a similar email from Sunshine, but am hoping not to miss early renewal prices as it can save a large amount of $$$. VIP parking I understand sells out quickly, and also would hope not to miss the boat on that.
Any tips/tricks? Have I missed the boat on cheap passes/VIP? Anyone have connections to get me everything I want? Am I being overly neurotic about this?
Parking passes usually go on sale mid to late summer and price increases as season goes on.Usually sold out by late fall. Definitely worth it if you ski weekends or holidays. Nice to ski the ski out at end of the day and ski across the bridge to your car and avoid the sardine can gong show in the main lot.
No early bird yet on Sunshine passes, only Louise and Ski Big 3
35cm at our place by Priddis. Bare grass to winter in 8 hrs.
Ssv changes pass prices based on demand…last year I snagged a mid week adult at $650 in July when they were not selling. Originally listed at $750 early buy…
I park in the vip everytime I go without a parking pass or without any issues, I usually only show up after 11…
Not sure if they will even have vip parking in the future. Not sure what the expansion plan but it’s rumored a new lift is going in from parking lot to Goats eye base. They have already started the logging…
Anyone have any more info?
I've heard they want another lift from the parking straight up to the corner of the bench half way up GE, but my understanding is that they are very far off any kind of approval for that plan so it's more of a long range pipe dream currently.
The logging on the ski out isn't for a lift. Apparently Parks Canada have told them they have to widen the ski out to make it safer when it's busy, and they won't let them proceed with any other plans until this is done. Then they've also been doing some clearing work over by the bus turnaround zone, but I assume that's just for a few extra parking stalls.
Take all this with a pinch of salt - just stuff I've heard from people who work up there.
lake was skiing a LOT like winter today, 5-15 fresh, loaded paradise at 10am, lifty said I was public#2 for the day.
untracked everywhere, not dumb deep, but VERY nice. Summit was fogged in. Snow was light and wintery.

If you weren't aware, half of the town of Jasper has been lost to the wildfires. I'm now hearing scuttlebutt that Marmot Basin may have been in the path way?
I'm in Canmore if any of the mags from there need anything reach out please.
We are west edmonton if anyone needs anything. I got time, a truck and place to store shit if you need.
Gnarly. Hope ppl got out in time.
Everyone got out, they did well on getting us going although once we were going it ended up as gridlock for 3 hours. I haven't heard anything definitive on Marmot yet but I am hoping it didn't get there before it was pushed back down the mountain.
Thoughts with everyone caught up in this

We’d first like to offer our sincere gratitude to all those who have reached out to wish us well in the last few days. This has been a devastating week for our community and the outpouring of kindness we’ve received has been remarkable and has not gone unnoticed.
The profound thanks due to the firefighters and those on the front lines who worked to protect our beloved town cannot be understated. To those who worked behind the scenes to make sure our community, family, and friends were safe, we send our deepest appreciation. Our hearts and thoughts are with those who have been heavily impacted by this tragedy. We will stand together as Jasper recovers and rebuilds. Our thoughts are also with our staff who are dispersed throughout Alberta and BC. We are working to bring them back to their homes in Jasper as soon as it is safe and permissible to do so.
We know many are wondering about the status of Marmot Basin. At this time assessment is still ongoing as to what, if any, damage the mountain has sustained. We are working with our partners at Parks Canada to better understand the status of our mountain. Recent mapping detailed the balance of the fire to be below our leasehold. We will provide updates as information becomes available.
