The 'Ghee was full on storm skiing today DC was on wind hold and it was dumping! Dust on crust with light accumulations in wind protected areas. Tuesday could be superb.

Agreed! Quintessential classic 'ghee Storm day. Played tour guide for my sis and nephew today out visiting from NH, we were only up today from 1-4 and the last hour of the day it was full on nuking. They got a crash course on skiing by braille coming off of Colters...... plan is to take them to the village tomorrow, will see how that pans out

Village was the suck today.
Lapped dark side. That was good.
Caught last tram and shit is still scratchy. Hoping an overnight softening of the under layer can happen.. . .

Does anyone know what, if anything, happened in Granite yesterday? I saw the SAR helicopter longlining a couple of guys into there yesterday around 1:30, then returning with a possibly different set of dangling humans around 2:00.
Also, I skied with my daughters yesterday morning, which was awesome, and we got one of the untrackedest middle hobacks I've ever experienced. I literally didn't cross another track from the boob until I started hitting traverse tracks of people coming back from the south. Yay.
But ... this may come off as blasphemy, but I think I preferred skiing the soft skier-packed from last week versus a foot of untracked on top of icy bumps. Hopefully it cleans up in the next few days.

The Ghee was an absolute BLAST yesterday! I was in mid-thigh deep goodness the first half of the day, and it was DELICIOUS! Monday was a bit more sporty though - blind all day, all braille skiing. Colter was particularly anxiety inducing - I hadn't skied that terrain before, and visibility was pretty much zero until you got to the bottom quarter.
The Ghee has given me the two deepest days of my life. Love that place!
Went to Kelly Canyon today on the Indy Pass. It was fast and firm, and the soft looking stuff was dust on crust. But...I had the place pretty much to myself. No complaints! First time there, and it wasn't disappointing. Good "break" after the Thighmaster session at GT yesterday!
Skiing in the Tetons really makes me not miss the Big Sky shitshow...Last edited by axebiker; 02-29-2024 at 08:55 AM.

Things have aligned for me and I'm headed north on a proper storm chase for the next week or so. Leaving for Jackson this afternoon, planning to ski the Village tomorrow and Saturday then headed to SLC for a few days skiing in LCC. Hope to maybe ski some of yous while I'm around.

Also looking at a storm chase w Mini (not so mini now at 15 and Fast!) Comish. Since slalom races were cancelled in Tahoe due to Snowmagedon, might fly into JAC Friday night.
What is the Maggot forecast? Worth it to be there Sat-Tues? Will planes land on Friday?

The skiing is going to get better as the weekend progresses.
Not sure about flights since it sounds like it’s going to be windy but I bet there’s a good chance you get in without snafu
I’ll be out skiing the village tomorrow and the next few days. Bluish purple pants and green jacket and hojis.Last edited by babybear; 02-29-2024 at 10:21 PM.

The pass is going to close Saturday morning at 2am and I don't have a great feeling about it being a super short closure. High wind and heavy snow is a tough combination for keeping a mountain pass roadway open.
