So, it looks like I didn't miss much while I was away. Came over 26 from PDX and it was snaining at Gov't camp. And a big FU to the Ram Dually in the left passing lane doing 45 MPH.

Looks like star and mhx are a go for tomorrow. Going to seriously consider putting a few new dings in my skis to rip some dirty ass snow. Anyone else?

Right back at ya... that ski hasn't seen snow since 2014.
    Fun day today.

Pretty dramatic inversion this morning at Bachy. 7 AM - 34 F in town and 38 F in the parking lot. Cat crew deserves the MVP this season.

Bachy wasn't all that bad. No lift lines. Off-piste had an inch of cream cheese on it. Vis was acceptable. Got an untracked lap at noon after a short bootpack. Popped my Skyliner 6 cherry too.

Maybe cause I don’t ski there often but Skyline-6 makes little sense… PM6 and NW6 makes more sense to me.

Sky is/was 7 years older than those other 2. Plus is a base lift with a parking lot

ha, I now remember that there is a small parking lot by Sky and that I parked there once and had to climbed over snow bank to ski down to catch sky.

Official message from management to employees has been that capacity wasn’t as big of a factor as better performance in higher winds. Bigger chair, bigger haul line, counter weights, detachable grips, etc.

That chair is instrumental for the race programs. Pine Marten has a lot of wind closures, so a front side with Sunrise, Sky, and Red open satisfies more skiers than just Sunrise and Red.

I went the last 4 days straight and I honestly had a great time. Maybe my standards are too low

I just want Powder Corp to put in a drag lift to the summit. Anyone know the latest opening of the Summit Chair? But it would be nice to see NWX go 6 pack whenever they decide to replace that chair.

^^^ I doubt a six-pack at either PMX or NWX will increase uphill traffic much. Based on my two laps thru Sky today at 1130-noon, there were an average of maybe 4.25 butts per chair. And that’s with long lines. The slightest hiccup at the ticket reader screws up butt density badly, especially when kids are involved

The new snow yesterday and last night made for nice groomer zooming first thing. The shady areas were quite firm. Crowds were reasonable until about 1015, then lines increased to maybe 10 minutes.

    Gratuitous alpenglow shot.

Was pretty much ski-on this AM. Guessing that shitty conditions, NYE celebrations and decisions to watch Ducks beat on Jesus Freaks kept the crowds in check.

Nice firm groomer zooming but it’s still low tide

Stoke is alive, thanks ullr. The sacrifices in the other thread have been accepted.

TBS - nice scratches. Straight and down the ski means you’re skiing proper!

Heh, interloper didn’t believe me when I told him ski techs charge less to repair scratches that run parallel to the ski compared to perpendicular “chicken scratches”.

I wish ON3P made a full camber, no rocker, 72mm waist, 14m radius ski. Or other manufacturers started using ON3P’s base material. Not even sure what I hit to cause those dings. I hit shit with my wrens that sound like “oh fuck” and then can’t find the scratch
