Yes, jews will be "othered" in the midst of a pro-palestine rally. That will always be the case. On the flipside, a Palestinian will feel "othered" if they are in the midst of a pro-israel rally...or anywhere in this country that voted red. We americans are a loud, intolerant, angry bunch. Hopefully your daughter can take it as a lesson to refrain from hateful judgement and making others feel unsafe as she moves forward in life (not that she neccessarily needed that lesson).

Currently, the hip thing for young, college folks to support is the Palestinian cause. Give it a few more months, a cessation of airstrikes in gaza, and this cause celeb will blow over. Meanwhile, arabs havent been able to catch a break here in america for decades with 3 more young arabs getting shot for looking arab in Burlington, VT over the weekend.

Separate topic- what crimes had the palestinian folks involved in the hostage/prisoner swap been charged and convicted of?

in the rush to judgement there’s very little info on the three guys that were shot in Vermont.

As far as what palestinians were convicted of, here are the first two i googled yesterday because both had tiktoks about how they were innocent going around. but even in the second case in the sympathetic article you can see her lunge at the soldier with the knife.

    https://www.timesofisrael.com/im-goi...re-attack/amp/

    https://www.palestinechronicle.com/r...-after-arrest/

there’s some more that almost blew themselves up and then were arrested. now they’re back and ready for a round 2, awesome.

Many had been in "administrative detention" without charge or trial for years.

WaPo pulls anti-Hamas political cartoon due to WaPo staff feels. Democracy dies in darkness... indeed it does.

Apparently this somehow dehumanizes Palestinians by attacking Hamas's use of Palestinian's as human shields.

    Yea. https://www.washingtonpost.com/style...chael-ramirez/

In a note to readers, David Shipley, editorial page editor of The Post, said the cartoon was initially meant to caricature a specific Hamas spokesman. But the backlash to the cartoon convinced him that he had “missed something profound, and divisive.”

“Our section is aimed at finding commonalities, understanding the bonds that hold us together, even in the darkest times,” Shipley wrote. “In this spirit, we have taken down the drawing.”
    Go free speech.

as far as i can tell, almost all of the released ones were not only charged but convicted. some were convicted of things like stone throwing or supporting terrorism online, but many were quite violent.

this one for instance, her car spontaneously combusted according to pallynews:

obviously Palestine should get back three standout civilians for each evil settler toddler.

Hamas kidnapped fucking babies, toddlers, grandparents and woman, after brutally murdering, raping and parading dead and mutilated bodies around.

So what point are you trying to make?

I was replying to the question

"what crimes had the palestinian folks involved in the hostage/prisoner swap been charged and convicted of?"

...Some/many of them hadn't been charged or convicted of anything or weren't directly connected with Hamas... other than being Palestinians.

They were named by Hamas for swap, were they not?

Or did Hamas demand 150 unnamed Palestinians pinched for parking tickets bar fights and illegal sat dishes?

they were flying the kaffiah...not everybody is going to take the high road, esp if they've been personally impacted by Palestinian terrorism
seems going around the world beheading innocents for press release is a two-edged sword

anyway, the link between lefties and Pallyluv predates even Chomsky, and will certainly outlive this generation of wannabe Euros as long as Samaritan marketing stays strong

Because the Jews don't go around the world beheading randos on camera every week in the name of YHWH and Israel. That's why.

lol wut? A keffiyeh is a scarf that is basically the arab version of a western baseball cap.

I guess looking arab in 'merica means you deserve a bullet. What's your take on black kids in hoodies, curiously?

The Palestinian keffiyeh (Arabic: كوفية, romanized: kūfiyya) is a chequered black and white scarf that is usually worn around the neck or head. This keffiyeh has become a symbol of Palestinian nationalism, dating back to the 1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestine. Outside of the Middle East and North Africa, the keffiyeh first gained popularity among activists supporting the Palestinians in the conflict with Israel and is an icon of Palestinian solidarity.

So the "high road" means not shooting people who make you mad? That seems like a pretty low standard.

    It's a start.

What about not hacking off heads, or supporting such as an ongoing political mo?

I don't have to guess. Yes. I have a pic in my phone of a dead teen SS camp guard who would be just as set in his world view about Jews. Kinda a creepy cool pic. Kid is lying face up with a group of the newly liberated standing over him and the sun through the shadows of the crowd form a Star of David on the kids head.

So in your world view, wearing the keffiyeh means that one supports hacking off heads as an ongoing political mo?
