    replacing enforcer 104

I think it is time to replace my Enforce 104 which I liked for the most part, seemed to be able to carve up the groom pretty well, but still kinda poppy and fun, my only complaint was that it would fold up a bit at speed. Im sort of zeroing in on the rossi sender 104ti, or line blade optic 104. If anyone has any thoughts on how these skis compare to the Enforcer I would love to hear it or if there are other skis i should be considering. Thanks

You want a Enforcer with more Enforcer.

    That's a Commander 108.

JSkis Hotshot would fit the bill. Size up. Probably Armada Declivity 108 too. 4frnt MSP 107 as well.

I'm going from an E104 to a mantra 102 this year. I'm expecting a higher top end out of the mantra but maybe at the loss of a little playfulness?

I had the E104 and was not a fan. I sold them and went with the Volkl Blaze 106 , which I like a lot. However, you may be looking for a more agressive ski.

As someone that loves the optic 104, it is definitely a softer and more playful ski.

What length E104 have you been skiing? What are your physical specs (height/weight)?

The Enforcer 104 is essentially a wider first gen Enforcer 100 with more rocker in the tail. They are one of the more versatile “western” skis around, but have a stability/speed limit. Most true “Enforcer-type” skiers will never find it. Bigger, more aggressive skiers definitely will.

There is a noticeable uptick in stability moving from the 186 to 191 length, but it still isn’t in the league of Volkl M102 or Blizzard B97 in terms of stability.

The Blade Optic 104 is “less ski” than the Enforcer. I’ve only been on the first Gen Sender Ti 106, but it felt similar to, if not slightly less stable than the Enforcer.

The new M102 is my vote. It’s slightly de-fanged from the first gen, but very, very stable and still versatile. I find it more manageable than the first gen, but also more fun. The Katana K108 now feels like more ski than the current gen M102, although it has a slightly softer tail and is better in deeper snow, for obvious reasons.

Never skied the enforcer 104. But I’m surprised to hear people call the blade optic 104 less of a ski. I have the 190 and it absolutely shreds. I haven’t found the speed limit, handled skiing Eddie’s high nowhere at Alta in 8 turns top to bottom. Which is full on pinning it. Totally composed and smooth at speed.

That’s why I asked about skier specs and what length. I’ve got a pair of 190 Blade Optic 104’s I have yet to ski, but am encouraged by your experience.

Blister says this in comparison of the 186 E104 and 185 Blade Optic 104:

“The Enforcer 104 feels notably stronger, more planted, and a bit more demanding than the Blade Optic 104.”

Would you call the m102 poppy though?
OP said he liked it poppy with no folding at speed. How bout that Nordica Unleashed 108?

My thoughts exactly. I'm 6foot2 and 200ish geared up

I’m 200lbs, 5’10”. I’m on the 186, maybe the 191 would be something to consider. I also have the enforcer 94 that I really like it.

Good to know on the line, that probably rules it out.

I sort of assumed the m102 was going to be all business and lack the bit of playfulness that can be fun. I might be trying to have my cake and eat it too.

The old blue/black Fischer Ranger 102fr could be good, if you can find a pair.

I had that ski and really like it as well. Loved the energy that came out of the ski at the end of the turn.

    replacing enforcer 104

I switched from the E104 to the Blade Optic 104 last year. No regrets. Similar feel/uses all over Whistler Blackcomb.

Note my E104s were at +2cm (-6.7cm) which is also the rec mount for the Optic 104 (-6.7cm). Maybe the Enforcer 104 felt like more ski cause of the more rearward rec mount?

The Optics are really great skis (playful + burly mix). I also have the Optic 114.

Slight hijack to ask if anyone has been on the enforcer 104 unlimited? Curious about them as a midwinter western touring daily driver. Seem like they have a lot going for them

My unlimited are mounted with shifts and I love them. Way more than the normal 104s. The carbon loads up on hard pack and makes for a ski that has so much more life and energy

More or less. The M102 has been “M6-ed” and is a bit more responsive than its predecessor. I think of the E104 as a comfortable ski that can be pushed pretty hard, but lacks a bit of pizzazz. The M102 is more business but can be tossed around a bit easier than the first Gen. And that’s comparing the new M102 in a 184 vs the E104 in a 191.

Already shared some thoughts on the M102, but wanted to comment on the Unleashed 108.

I have those in the 186 and skied them quite a few days last year. They are lighter than the E104 and have less metal which equates to a more “energetic” feel but also makes them less damp and not quite as stable as the E104. They are like the younger, more exuberant brother to the E104. They do rail on groomers and have a nice pop when you load them up, though. So, a fun alternative but not more stable version.
