    Ski Storage Solutions

Finishing a new garage and thinking about where I want to put the sticks. Last house I was using Gravity Grabbers but not sure I really like them, especially with reverse camber skis. Considering just a platform they stand on and lean into the wall with some kind of divider between pairs of skis.

How do you rack your skis when they’re not on your feet?

They ride in the back of my truck year round. How can I ride if I don’t have my equipment? Also it doesn’t waist any of my precious garage space…

I never take off my skis. I’m training for Alaska.

I walk around w them on a backpack all the time every day, letting everyone know I'm ready to throw down and drop in heavy at a moments notice.

Yes, I too have the servants trained to just check my calendar. The chauffeur has the skis already loaded and the boots on the warmers before I even wake up.
No idea where they're stored, that's the help's problem to keep them out of sight out of mind.

I demoed the TECH TALK JONG! pro model this spring and their performance was unparalleled which is good because I ski in a wedge most of the time - bendtheski, 2011

Just keep them at the hangar with the Gulfstream, it's much more convenient.

Use the search function. There is a long thread debating all the options.

I just leave mine overnight on the rack at the base area, unlocked.

Everyone knows that I am the best skier in the mountain so nobody touches my skis.

    I have a ski valet.

Once, I am whisked to the mountain, my fellow will ski with me carrying a selection of skis. As we arrive at the summit we will discuss the piste, conditions and my feelings. He will suggest a ski for that run, or even portion of a run, from my selection and away we go.

I find the key is to hire a ski valet with the same bsl as you. This way, on bc adventures, he can break trail with the 120 waist skis while I follow in lighter gear. At the top we simply switch.

    Doesn't everyone do this?

    That’s not a valet, that’s a caddy. JONG.

In the summer I put them in the rafters of my garage. In the winter I lean them in the corner of my garage. I've yet to see a ski storage "solution" that was any more efficient space-wise than leaning them all in the corner. It does make the buried ones harder to get at, but NBD.

Gun safe is the easiest, assuming you are on snow-blades like all of us.

I would, but my last caddy was a punter and got bitchy when I made him carry more than 5 pairs. So the position is, sadly, currently vacant.

It's hard to find good help these days.

This forum is hard! I found some good examples in some of the quiver threads but haven’t been able to track down a full thread. I’ll keep looking, chill out!

here's a hint: you're actually in the wrong forum.
